Stupid covered pool enclosure question
Comments (6)I thought more experts would chime in here, but I think when you start enclosing a pool with something other than screen, you are now talking about an "indoor" pool and you have to factor in heat and humidity. A screen "bird cage" (Florida-speak) may be necessary if you find that you can't enjoy your pool due to bugs. If they turn out to be no-see-ums, you have to get a special screening material to keep them out. I'm fortunate to have enough breeze and far enough from swampy, mangrove, retention pond or preservation areas that I don't need a cage....See MoreNew Pool Build - Any Advice on Quantity of Pool Lighting?
Comments (13)This is very helpful feedback. It sounds like I need to consider putting two lights on the house side, one near the deep end and one in the shallow end both pointing toward the raised beam. But I could get away with just one down the center with no major shadows. racket: the pool will have Stonescapes Tahoe Blue. I'm not sure I understand what you meant by "If its dark/pebble one length" Could you please clarify? I just hate any kind of confrontation. We were hoping they would fix it but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. Is it possible that they could set this thing to just run at night or does it have to run during the day as well? Comments (25)"My experience here is that the pool neither hurts nor helps you when selling." Of all the homes I have bought and sold, in only two cases did I desire a pool - in all of the other cases I did not want a pool. Interestingly, the pool I bought in San Diego got little use because the average summer temperature there was 72 degrees and thus the pool temp was 72. Even then, utilities were so high that heating it was a real negative. That said, no winterizing costs, maintenance cost very low as every wannabe surfer dude wanted a pool cleaning route and worked for peanuts. The pool I had in Northern VA got lots of summer time usage with out the need to heat, but there was winterizing expenses and no surfer dudes. All in all, I would not remove a pool for selling purposes based on my experience....See Morejoanneswimsct
