yes spybot search and destroy is not a great program these days there are a couple free ones that you should replace it with here are the links for them, install, update and run full scan.

I have never seen that happen nor heard of it from anyone.

I still find Spybot to be an excellent program, every bit as good as the other two good programs mentioned but of course you need to keep definitions current. But I do encourage people to use more than one and alternate them.

For your problem, try cleaning out your cache and cookies. Have you tried rebooting? What browser are you using? GW has a lot of problems with Internet Explorer and since it's a problematic program to start with I still recommend people use Opera, Chrome, Safari, K-meleon, Firefox or something for a much more pleasurable surfing experience.

Are you current on Windows Updates?

I am running windows 7, IE 8. I tried out firefox the other week and didn't like it, just not used to it I guess, so I uninstalled it. I think that may be what part of the problem is as since then I have been having this issue.
I downloaded the malwarebytes and ran it with zero findings. Same as with my McAfee and Spybot. I am current with all updates too.
It is quite annoying, to post here today I had to keep clicking on pg 2 to get there and find my message and then keep clicking on it till it would finally open. It just keeps going back to the main page.
I've never had issues here before in all the years I have been on here.

Maybe your TAB settings got changed.
1 Tools
2 Internet options
3 Settings under TABS
Here's what I have:
Everthing checked in first section except the "open only the first home page..." box
When new tab is opened, open with "the new tab page" option
Open links from other programs in "a new tab in current window" option.

Or, you can try turning tabs off and then turning them back on again....

just because you did not care for firefox does not mean you should have removed it, it is always a very good idea to have at least 2 browsers on a pc should one break you can still use the other to at least get on the internet.

I would go back and reinstall firefox this may correct your problem if it was some how caused by your removal. A file may have become corrupted and this may replace it.

You can do the same with IE8 try re-installing it also to see if it helps.

Or you can go back in time to an earlier system restore point when it was working properly, very quick and easy to do and fully reversible if needed.

Windows 7 is the first version of Windows to have a very effective System Restore. I'd give that a try. Go back to a point before you installed Firefox. See if that helps.

FWIW I just spent 30 min this morning straightening out the new Firefox update to version 4. Don't understand why they want to make it look more and more like Internet Explorer. Guess I'll use Firefox even less. Opera is still #1 and Chrome is gaining favor.

Well this is still continuing but only with this site, not even on other parts of garden web so I have no idea what is wrong.
I have cleaned all areas suggested, played with tabs etc. I would prefer not to have to do a restore...guess I am hoping this will pass!
There is no rhyme nor reason as to which thread it will happen on, my own or someone else's. I click on it, it should open but doesn't, just goes back to the first page...I click again and it will open. Then when I use my back button I get the # sign up on the tab by the leaf. Then it becomes worse with each thread I try to view.

Have you tried right clicking on the post title you want to read and selecting "open in new tab" or "open in new window"? (It could be a work-around.)
Have you tried signing out of KT and signing back in?
