Please show me pics of your under-counter puck lights

I got puck lights - 2 different sets of them. Now the GC and the electrician are both giving me grief about how awful they will look used under the upper cabinets. I could've sworn I saw some good pics somewhere, and they looked downright nice.

If you have installed pucks under your upper cabs, I would love to see detailed pics of your installation.

Oh - one more thing - they are saying that part of the reason is because of the angled plug mold I want up there too.

I have no pictures of mine-I will try to get some later-but I have puck lights under cabinets and they look great. You can't see them at all-and the ligth they put off is wonderful!

Boxie-babe,

Are you planning on having a light rail to 'hide' the side profile of the pucks. Which I agree 'do look ugly'. My DH is planning on enclosing the pucks and wiring with a panel stained to match the cabinets, and with holes cut out for the puck. So, if anyone laid on my counters and looked up (hee hee), all they would see would be the round light, much like a recessed light in the ceiling.

Haven't done it yet, as panel to hide wiring is an extra peninsula back which we holding in reserve till our granite is replaced (just in case!). Once done, will post pics.

Well, when I built my house I did not want the appliances taking over the kitchen so I had one of those hydraulic lift shelves for my Kitchen-Aid Mixer. A wonderful thing and then I bought more appliances. So here is how mine is laid out: To the right of the sink is the coffee maker, electric kettle and food processor (finally convinced DH to put up the espresso maker). To the left is a deruta crock that holds my scrub brushes. I am looking for an appropriate container to keep the lotion, dish soap, and hand soap together in a neat group (thinking wire basket). In my prep area is my knife block and another crock holding silicone spatulas, whisks, and a microplane grater. When I am cooking I do not want to search through a drawer. The blender will be moved back here (it is used at least 5 times a week, I don't care to move it around too much). Next to my cooktop is another crock holding wooden spoons, metal spoons, and more whisks (cooking is serious and I want it all there when I want it, no fishing around in drawers). On another counter is my grain mill. It is used a couple of times a week and hauling it out is a pain. This time of the year there are also seed trays in any available space of the kitchen. I did get an under-cabinet CD player which is lovely.

I am new to this forum. We're in the final stages of building a new house (only wish I knew about you guys sooner!) and I love seeing all of your awesome work! We put in espresso stained rift oak slab front cabinets (not too far off of celticmoon's awesome refinishing of her 20 year old oak cabinets!). Our paint we chose is BM Timothy Straw (2149-40) which is a goldish-lime green color. It is bright, but not too bright for our taste. I think we'll love it in our Seattle November weather! We also chose it (over 15 other test paints ranging from tan to gold to sage and even some blues) because it goes really well with the yellow-orange tones of the VG fir woodwork and Red Birch floors in the attached great room. I am SO happy every time I see it!!! Our backsplash will be a blend of 2x12 glass sticks, laid horizontally in a random brick/stick pattern, from Statements Flow Glass line (link below). It's mostly a blend of Glacier, Pepper and Ivory with 5% Mint and Chocolate added for little pops of color. Countertops are my next decision...I know I want light, but am not sure if I'll go for natural stone or quartz yet. Hi Nursetammi, I went to check out some granite slabs on Friday and decided on the New Venetian Gold. I loved the slabs. It has lots of garnet specks in it which looks good with my cabinets. It also has black in it to tie in with the black island I'm going to get made. It was very confusing because they didn't have Giallo Napoleon and the New Venetian Gold sample that I received from another granite place looked nothing like the New Venetian Gold that I picked out. I would have thought maybe it could have passed for Santa Cecilia, but they had that color there and it wasn't the same as the sample that I received either. I'm glad I wasn't set on one color. Lesson learned is that the color you pick might not be the color you think it is at the warehouse. The guy at the warehouse showed me some other New Venetian Gold slabs that were from a different lot than the one that I picked and it looked way different. It wasn't as gold and it had more grey. Anyway, I'm probably about a month away from getting my granite because the kitchen island is currently being made. I will post pictures when I'm done. Please post pictures of your project when you are done -- I'd love to see it. Good luck!

Here's ours, per your request. After 6 years it still looks like the day it was installed. no stains , chips or whatever and it still has that nice glossy finish (that we Love). By the way cloud swift, your granite is stunning and it tends to match your name. I would have liked something with that much colour, but the wife, unfortunately, is not into that sort of thing, although I'm happy with the compromise we made in getting the Arandis Gold granite. Hi Raehelen: We thought about doing that, but it became too involved.

Electrician brought over a sample of what he suggests, and it appears to be something I can live with - so I decided not to sweat the small stuff, and went with it. And I can still operate them all on one dimmer switch on the wall.

I will post pics of it when it's all over. But the good news is, my cabinets are installed for the most part. They're coming back on Monday to finish up. And if I do say so myself - it looks MAH-VALOUS!

Has anyone gotten the puck lights that you control individually? I am trying to decide which I would prefer. I am not sure if I do want a switch to control all the undercab lighting. I woudl guess that is more desirable having one switch control all, so what am I missing?
