2. You don't, there is no logic in the control for this. When you have a spa with a spillover, you should have a i9+ 3 controller, the i10 is a pool/spa combo, but with separate equipment. With the i9 you use the return valve as the spillover valve so when you push the spa button, the valve operator is all ready in spa mode, it just has to switch the suction valve.

You could set up a Macro which upon pushing the spa button it will shut off the spillover, but turn on the spa, the spillover will turn on when you push it again.

3. I like all the pool lights on the same relay and all the spa lights on another. I can't remember anyone asking for 2 different modes pool and spa. What you could do is set up the mode, go back to the main screen, and turn pool lights off if you don't want them on.

4. correct, not possible. The software will just use whichever item that has the highest speed. It's possible, that you could set up macros for different "modes" then set the gpm based off what the macro does. So like spillover + bubbler = x gpm on macro, and have the macro open appropriate valve. This should work even if all macros are enabled because it will revert to the highest speed, since all the valves will be opened by the macros, you should be ok.

4. not on the intellitouch, but it wont exceed the 100 gpm unless you tell it to go that way. I'd really doubt, that someone would alter pump speeds on accident, it would be really tough to do. That being said the VF may have the functionality, but we only use the VS pumps.

2. This feature was already programmed and working on the pool then i10+3D board failed and was replaced under warranty and reprogramming was not completed before the electrician ended up out sick, so I am looking for advice on how to set the spa button to toggle the spillover valve.

Up to twelve (12) IntelliBrite light circuits can be displayed on the main Lights screen. From the Lights screen

Unfortunately this, from what I can tell you can not control each light seperately. When I am just using the spa is seems stupid to have to turn on 4 pool lights also to pick a mode and then turn them off. It also seems nuts that I can not set each light to its own color. I think Pentair screwed this one up and lumped "color swim" setup with the color set and show screens.

4. I guess after paying lots of money for something called "Intelli" I expected it to have some reasonable smarts. I suppose I thought wrong.

5. I will just keep the uninitiated from fiddling with the controls!

2. Are you sure? Replacing the board should not delete all data unless you have to replace both the processor board, and the indoor control panel. The data is saved in both locations so all they needed to do is have the processor board download the data. I have never used a spa spillover on an i10 so I can't comment on how the "spillover" behaves but if it interlocks with the spa button, it should be automatic, as in no setting that would allow you to interlock it without creating a macro.

3. We don't do that many colored lights in this market, we typically have them banked on one circuit to avoid confusion, and most people dont need lights different colors, all of them in sync is usually ok.

4. Sure, but it's lightyears ahead of everything else. Creating macro should solve your problem, but could create confusion as to which button does which.

5. Sound like a plan, many professionals have a hard time figuring out where to set speeds, you shouldn't have a problem with them fiddling with the speeds.

Everything you want to do can be done with it set up properly, and using macros. You just have to understand how it works, and be creative. When I get some time I will spell out some of this for you. Basically you can do just about anything, except have a gas heater, and a heatpump work independently, at the same time.

Actually you can, You just put the heat pump on an aux w/ it's own thermostat. This typically works because most people don't move the setpoints around on pools that often.

That is what I had to do, not what I wanted to do:)
No getting around the single temp control.
I have put a major bug in their ear about it.

I will give cudos to (Goldline) for this. I can have a gas heater, heatpump, and solar running at the same time with temp control of each. This is what they specilize in.

When the final programming was being done on my system the MobileTouch mysteriously stopped communicating. Eventually, all of the component parts were replaced. I have no indoor panel.

Racket and just-a-pb. OK I will ask it clearly. How do I set up a macro so pushing the SPA button, in addition to turning on my spa pump and spa heater, closes the valve to stop the spillover effect? and turning the spa off with the same button reverses that? The spillover is tied in to the pool pump by the way, not the spa pump.

Anyone: Am I missing something about the Intellibrite settings?

First, you need to create a name for the macro.

Click menu-setup-advanced-circuit names-create custom name

I suggest Calling is Spa Mode so that you can differentiate it from the Spa one later.

Pick one of the unused custom names use the keypad to make the name and save it.

Second you need to assign the macro to a feature circuit.

Click menu-setup-advanced-circuit names-assign circuit names-feature

click a unused feature circuit, and assign your name to it.

save and click back.

To create the macro you click menu-setup-circuit-macros

you have to scroll though until you find your "spa mode" circuit

click it, and you will see a list of equipment. Click "SPA" the light next to it will be solid green. Click the "spillover" or whatever it's called 2X so that it is flashing green. Save and go back.

Now you need to assign the macro to somewhere on your screen.

I may not be totally correct here but I think it's in menu-setup-advanced-circuit names.

click the button you want to assign to the "Spa Mode" button and scroll up or down until the button that says "spa mode".
