Help! Color of returns with a grey interior???

Help!! Our pool is at the plumbing stage and I noticed that they are putting white equipment where the returns & stuff are in the pool. Our PB also puts in rope lines and they are also white. We are getting a french grey interior. Do you think that is right?? The guy is supposed to come back out tomorrow to actually run the pipes to the equipment so I wasn't sure if I should say anything to him or the PB. I definetly do not want it to stand out but I'm just not sure what the norm is. Thanks!!

Grey and black fittings are available for color plaster finishes. Ask your builder to provide the best match. White fittings stand out like a sore thumb on color finishes. Good luck.

Whoa -- if the pool is only at the plumbing stage, nothing is being put in that is going to show when the pool is finished. The final fittings on the returns aren't installed until the pool is plastered.

New construction, south facing (picture is of rear of home, N facing). Can't decide on colors. Was originally going with Amazing grey exterior (stucco), and worldly grey interior main color with Anonymous on a few contrast walls. Windows came back and they are browner than anticipated (color card at window place was a lot darker, almost black). Now afraid our greyish exterior color will clash with the brown window... Would like to stick with a grey/greige color palette, but not sure which undertone will go best. Amazing grey has the green undertone..looks like balanced beige is more brown...don't want the house to look too brown...lots of brown houses around here :-) Anew grey seems purple? the front we're using some stone accents as well. Not a lot, just a little on the garage and entry. I've attached a pic sample of that also. roof will be black For the interior, really liked the worldly grey, but the anonymous, in the "wrong" light looks so army green, considering switching to an agreeable grey/warmstone pair instead. We appreciate any advice. thanks!

trying to choose an all wall interior soft gray

round two of painting our home. we are trying to choose an interior and accent gray. i like modern gray, my hubby likes miners dust. i think miners dust is nice, but i keep seeing taupe in the color and i say nay nay to taupe. any suggestions? what would be a nice accent to either of these colors? if it helps, we have a chestnut color cabinets that we are not changing right now, so the gray needs to work with them.

but i did google it and read that dolphin fin has a blue undertone. but i also read that dolphin fin is a a warm gray, and i also read it gives a true gray color. Since Diana invited me. :) That one is easy to explain. Won't help where you are but at least you'll understand what you found when you Googled Dolphin Fin. It doesn't have a blue undertone. It's not about undertones. Instead, every color belongs to a hue family. Dolphin Fin belongs to the Yellow hue family - the very end of the Yellow hue family right where the Green-Yellow hue family starts. Can see what I mean on this color wheel. Hue family is determined using a balanced quality of light. What a balanced quality of light means is a quality of light with a nice, balanced mix of all the wavelengths in the spectrum. So when you have that kind of mixed-bag, balanced quality of light in your space, Dolphin Fin will look "just gray". Some may call it "true", others "warm". but overall "just gray". When the light doesn't have a mix of wavelengths, when it has more blue to green wavelengths, then Dolphin Fin will shift and appear as tho it is blue. Nothing is hidden or under anything. It's just the way the light is and it's just the way Dolphin Fin looks under that *color* of lighting. Changing light bulbs will change how it looks. Because if you change the light you change how a color looks. That's just the way color works. But if it's looking blue when the lights aren't on, then that's an inherent light issue. Can't move your windows and doors.

Looking for light gray blue green for interior

If anyone has suggestions, I'd be very grateful. I'm looking for a color that is a mix of BM Healing Aloe (1562) and BM Glass Slipper (1632). BM Gray Sky (2131-70) is along the lines of what I'm looking for but I'd like it to be more complex with a little green in it. Does anyone have suggestions? I've never mixed colors but maybe that's what I have to do? Thanks for any help.

If I remember correctly French Gray is not a very dark gray. Black fittings may really stick out too much. I saw a pool with black fittings on a light gray pool and IMO the white would've blended much better. I don't know if your PB offers a gray fitting. Ours only offered white or black. Since our pool is a dark gray, we went with the black as the white would've really stuck out horribly.

I think those might be temporary but it would be good to confirm that they will be using gray for the final install.

Well we checked with the plumber and he said that they only offer white or black. Black would definetly not look good since our finish is lighter grey so I guess it's white for us. It just so happens, I had the builder send me a picture of another pool they did with the french grey interior and they were also white and it looked fine. Thanks for the responses!! It's so nice to get advice from other's....

This is a personal peeve of mine! I hate seeing the returns, main drains and vac lock in a pool. You spend so much money on an upgraded color interior finish and the builder goes cheap on the fittings. You can get the fittings in many colors to match the finish. We have to special order them in bulk because it is not typical for pool companies (at least in Central Florida) to offer matching fittings. I would have your builder special order them or if your in Central Florida I can help you out.
