Slow-Cooked Asian Roast

1/2 cup beef broth

1/3 cup soy sauce

1 tbsp sugar

5 cloves garlic, minced

1 large onion, thinly sliced

freshly ground pepper

2 lb blade or cross rib roast

Mix all ingredients (except meat) in slow cooker. Discard any netting around roast. Place meat in slow cooker, turning to coat. Cook on low 8-10 hours.

Remove beef to cutting board and let stand 5 minutes before thickly slicing. Serve with pan juices and onions spooned over top. Great with steamed bok choy.
