Hi Does anyone know how to get into DemiFloyd's PhotoBucket Pictures? There are some lovely pictures of their home, but I cant access it. Is there a Password, or is it protected? I would love to see their home again to get some ideas for my new house. Help, anyone? TIA Reen

I thought our 2300 sq ft. house was just perfect for the 3 of us... - then we decided I traveled too much for work and opened up my own business - in the house - then things grew and I added an employee - in the house - Then hubby took early out from the University and expanded his tax & consulting practice - in the house - then his practice grew and he added a part ime employee - in the house - then things really got successful and some parts of the year he can have as many as 3 employees - in the house!!! Net effect is that our 4 bedroom house some days feels like a 1 bedroom office - we no longer have a home. We are building on 20 acres in the country - house with a good sized office wing. I've redesigned about a dozen times and can't seem to get it down below 5000 sq ft. So, for us (and the assorted clients, employees and visiting relatives) I guess the perfect size is 5000 sq ft.

I haven't purchased anything, and didn't even look terribly hard at the options. I was just walking down the curtain aisle and noticed 3 different curtains that would work for me. I had my 2 little ones with me, so such serious decisions will require a return trip. But Lowe's is far enough away that when I go, I'll be making a purchase. The current window treatments are all the same: 2 ivory panels on either side of each window. We just bought the house like that, and they were unoffensive enough to leave them alone for the past 3 years. Here's an example: The blinds, panels, and rods will be going away and I think I'll be getting a single dark rod to run over both windows and will have 4 panels, with 2 taking up more space on the middle wall. My neighbor, on the other hand, with the same floor plan and pretty much the same dark leather furniture has valances and roman shades in this room. I feel like panels would be more dramatic. Glad to know I can get different window treatments compared to the other rooms. This room, then, will probably get some solid panels in either gold or olive. Haven't painted yet, but have been deliberating over gold vs. olive. I was hoping my curtain choice would make my wall color choice clearer.

Don't give up, my advice is to step back and realize there are other great choices and once you have selected one you'll forget the other one. I say that because in my master bath I fell in love with a beautiful European wallpaper, because I tend to dream up what I want in my head, look for it and find it. So, I asked for a pale blue background with large white flowers--much like yours, and looked everywhere myself. No luck. Then I asked a designer to find it for me. He did--the extremely expensive European wallpaper. For a bathroom. We figured the rolls and just did not want to spend that kind of money on a wallpaper, so I went back to looking. Couldn't find anything. My teenage daughter picked up one of the many books and flipped through and happened to look at the back page of one--one I missed, and the colorway was a pale blue background with white flowers. Perfect. I still love that wallpaper almost nine years later. I can't quite remember the other because it was so similar, and it was more delicate--no coating on it. We sometimes tend to get tunnel vision when working so hard to find just the perfect materials and decor for our homes. Most of my wallpapers are Thibault as they have a lot of designs that appeal to me, and I LOVE LOVE the one that Voila posted, from Colfax and Fowler, do the colors work for you in that one? May I see your dining room chandelier?

oh I'm just dizzy. So much beauty! I stopped over here hoping for this exact thread. I am currently shopping and struggling for a chandelier for our "formal" dining room/space. It is meant to be the formal dining, but it is litterally eight feet from the front door. There is no real foyer. It also has a 15 ceiling and only a wall and a half seperating it from everything else. The fixture in there is very wrong and light just seems to disapear. Everything is so expensive out there, its very frustrating. Thanks Sumnerfan for starting this thread. It helps so much to be able to see the rooms with the fixtures instead of a store full of fixtures.

I'll make the Photobucket account public for a little while; the older photos are from when we first moved in; I have done more things around here but haven't taken photos recently.

What a treat! It is an outstanding and beautiful home in a setting that so many of us just don't see. (I am on a golf course, near the beach, far down in SoCal)

You were very, very busy for a really, really long time. We built a couple of years ago and can appreciate every decision in all those details.

Your furnishings are just fabulous, I have no idea what you brought with you or what you bought for the new house, but kudos, well done!

Thank you for sharing. I remembered your guest room and enjoyed seeing more of the house.

What a magnificent home, both in terms of architecture and decor. And situated on the water, what more could one ask? Well, perhaps a maid or two to help out. What a treat to be able to see all these marvelous pictures.

As beautiful as the pictures are, Demifloyd's home is even more beautiful in person. We met during our builds, became friends and have traveled together a few times. I had the honor of staying in her purple guest room last fall. No picture of the chandelier that's now there? It is gorgeous! She is a wonderful friend and hostess. :)

The chandelier is at the bottom of page 9, but it is not a closeup. It is definitely one of my favorite lighting fixtures.

Allison is very sweet; I have visited her beautiful home as well and it is designed and decorated to perfection yet it is welcoming and comfortable--serene. Actually, that's descriptive of Allison! I've been blessed to meet her and other nice people and now have some very good friends through building and decorating our home.

Thankyou DemiFloyd for letting me "into" your beautiful
home once again. I'm so sorry for the late reply, was away for three weeks.
I really enjoyed looking at the lovely decor and architecture.
Btw, there are two lovely gilt framed pictures of two young girls on page 2, I think in one of your bathrooms; are they oil paintings or prints? They are really lovely.
