Hubby's got a brand new bag

My husband sings in a chorale group & needed a new bag to carry his music and supplies. The fabric has a bit of gold glitter to it, so I outline quilted the front of the bag around each instrument and keyboard motif in gold thread (used fusible batting and twill backing). It has a separate lining with pockets for pens and his guitar strings. The music is held in an accordion folder purchased at an office supply store. The folder divider tabs can be labeled by music genre or alphabetically. He hasn't gotten that far yet: Pic:

The webbed handle is a continuous loop that passes through sewn on guides on the bottom of the gasket, the front of the bag below the top flap and at the same height on the back. The place where the web is sewn back to itself is also sewn to the bottom of the gasket so it won't shift. He can adjust the thickness of the bag by tightening up on the unsewn loop side of the handle.

No pic, but also made him a matching zippered portfolio for the choral folders he uses only during show programs. They slip in behind the accordion folder.

It's not really a quilt.. but not bad for my 35 year old Kenmore that really wasn't bought or designed with quilting in mind.

Ta-da!!! He's very happy!
