Ladies, did you notice.........?

Not one male responded to my "Let's talk makeup!" thread of a couple of weeks ago. Therefore, I'm thinking the next time we want to discuss bras, or menopause, or what-have-you, we should type "Let's talk mascara!" or "What's your favorite lipstick?" in the subject line.

Makes sense to me! LOL

Oh, don't bring up that make-up thread. It inspired me to try to wear lipstick regularly, something I just could never get into the habit of doing even though I own plenty of it and enjoy wearing it.

The problem was I put it in my pants pocket to make it accessible to me all day and then I washed and dried it! I found myself scrubbing lipstick stains out of clothing.

Oh well, if anyone needs a good stain remover try Amodex. So far I can tell you it gets out tomato sauce, bbq sauce and lipstick.

Yes, I completely agree with you, Ken! I was fairly horrified after visiting your place to realize that I didn't take pictures. I was hoping you wouldn't feel slighted, because I will always remember the visit. I am not a multitasker. My better half is and takes lots of pictures. I can take a picture, or I can participate in the event, I cannot do both. I'm quite envious of those of you that can! tsuga, you found, as I did, that the gardener was every bit as noteworthy as the garden. The link below was on a Denver news channel recently. punkinhead, Yes, I've noticed that. Around here, you can't give away summer squash in May or June because everyone has too much and is sick of it. In recent years I've gotten to where I can, dehydrate and freeze so much produce that we don't give much away, but this year I've been sending tomatoes and onions to 2 or 3 of Tim's coworkers, and to our son's coworkers at the fire station. One of the firefighters at his station is a real "foodie" and probably as close to being a gourmet chef as anyone we've ever known, so I try to send him something fresh from the garden every shift they work. He is thrilled beyond words to have truly fresh produce and our son's coworkers are rapidly learning there's a big difference between produce from the grocery store and produce from a garden. Yesterday morning, DS took in Red Norland and Red LaSoda potatoes that I dug a couple of weeks ago. Last night, DS sent me a text message after dinner about the superior flavor and 'tenderness' of the fresh potatoes. I should add that he's spoiled because we often have fresh produce obviously, but he's seeing it now through the eyes of folks for whom it is a pretty rare treat. Everyone else we know is on their own. My attitude is that if I can grow it, they can grow it! I will confess that when my local friends who garden call me and say "come get all the corn...or tomatoes....or purplehull peas....you want because we're tired of picking them", I usually don't go. After all, we garden in the same conditions, so if they're having a great year, I'm having a great year and I'm just as tired of harvesting and putting up the crops as they are. We also have some friends who don't seem to know what to do with fresh produce. They're so used to either eating out or cooking frozen stuff from boxes that they don't seem to want to cook fresh produce....or maybe they don't know how or just don't have time. Dawn

Marie, it's at the top of the message column. That's where you get access to all of the pages associated with this particular forum. Just click on the one you want, like Exchanges, then when you want to come back to this page, click on Discussions. Gallery is for posting pictures of quilts; Conversations is for off-topic stuff, like recipes, diets, grandchildren stories, etc. None of them are widely used on this forum but some of the forums have a very active Conversation page. But it doesn't seem to change back to green when new responses have been added to a post since I last read it. I miss that. Also, on old newsgroups (back in the 1990s) responses within a "thread" would be one color, and new responses added since the last time I read them would be a different color. That made it very easy to tell where you left off....

I enjoyed reading that thread, gave me some ideas which I haven't incorporated yet . I have a ton of makeup but don't wear it enough, I'm just too lazy. I have deep circles under my eyes, no matter how much sleep I get so I look like a raccoon!

I must have missed that thread! I don't wear makeup often, but actually wore foundation, eyeshadow, liner, blush & lipstick yesterday for a bridal shower. I guess if I want to talk bras, ect, and the guys want to read it, oh well. If I worried about them reading it, I wouldn't post it. But it might be fun to see how many paid attention, besides OJ!!!!!

Sleeperblues, have you been tested for diabetes?
A friend of DGS's (7 y/o) has had dark circles for years, was never energetic, and all of a sudden started drinking all the time. His mother took him to the pediatritian several times, concerned, but never got anywhere until her son started drinking so much and she did some research. She walked in and said you are going to order these test. Kid has type one. Hope your circles are just natural, not due to illness.
