I'm a day late on this but you might also try asking over on THS. They have a sewing forum with some very knowledgeable people. I bought my machine in the mid 60's when my oldest was about 3. It was in storage for many years so when I took it out to see if it could be used, I had a similar problem with various fabrics, tension and the feed dogs. I took it to someone who cleaned and adjusted it and it sews like a new one. Sometimes that's all it takes.

Thanks, everyone, number 3 it is! I'm actually going to modify it slightly so that I have more full deco tiles in the open floor space of the room. This is what it will look like: (The face-down bullnose tile show the edges of the vanities.) Kendog... Yes, my husband is v e r y thorough! We have a good tilesetter but he's probably not going to spend the hours moving and placing tiles that we did! I then went back and outlined where I wanted each of my deco tiles. Thanks for the compliments on my tile. It's Materia Forte by Edimax and the color is Bronzea. It's a porcelain tile but the coordinating decos are travertine. The flash is washing out the color of my tile here but you can see the detail of the deco: I love the color of these tiles but they do look a little strange with all of the orange in my room right now! Let the tiling begin!

Anyplace I get the chance! Donna, I have a friend in my Thurs. knitting group who crochets in church. When the pastor mentioned it, she told him that she listens better while crocheting and what she crochets in church are charity items. She makes it a point not to crochet anything else in church. She is more relaxed and attentive while crocheting and uses a pattern that she already knows without having to keep the pattern handy to keep looking at, so that doesn't create a distraction for her or for others. Dances, I can see you doing that! I usually knit while DH drives, but that only works when I'm not dizzy with motion sickness when driving/riding whru the mountains! Tami

Yes, the windowsill will be the counter material. Trying to explain the problem using thIS pic from your post. There is only 1/4" of window frame showing past the plaster on the left side. Wood jambs are typically 1/2" thick, so the jamb would be sticking over the frame and in front of the window sash 1/4" on the left side. I think that would look idiotic. The other side has 1/2" of frame so the jamb would be flush with the frame on that side which doesn't sound a whole lot better, as a little frame reveal looks nicer, IMO. We'd have to tear out the drywall on both sides of the window opening (and probably should as the other options are starting to feel really cobbled up right now) to be able to trim the window in wood or anything else and not have this problem. So, I was just going to leave it a painted hole with a window in it and call it done. But that bugged me, so I thought maybe I could turn the corner with the backsplash into the window area but that's not really grabbing me either and that stuff is 1/2" thick, too. I've seen so many pics of windows without trim that looked great, but for some reason mine doesn't seem to have the same effect. Guess I'm trying to find a way to not tear out the plastered in stuff around that window and still have it look good. Maybe there is no way. Blah.
