I bought ours from Stardecorating.com. Didn't like the customer service I was getting from my local Home Depot or Lowes (can't remember where I saw the samples).

We love them and another GWer bought the same style as ours and used the same vendor.

I had checked out Smith & Noble, but their cordless does not have an option for a privacy liner, which I'd like. Just be aware, natal, since I've ordered other items from S&N several times, their phone order takers haven't got a clue; if you don't have any questions about an item, you could order online, but they often mess up orders anyway. Their products are usually well-done in the end, however.

I went to Stardecorating, thanks parma, their prices are similar to those I've seen on Steve's blinds, but I didn't notice any free shipping with stardecorating. The problem with these online order places is that I can't see and touch the materials anywhere, and they don't all seem to carry all the same parts of the line. For instance, I had liked the woven fabric called Bankgok on Steve's, but Stardecorating doesn't seem to carry it.

Parma, how's the cordless by Levolor doing? Are they dependable? I would need to raise and lower them each day - not asking too much from the shades, am I?

Blubird, the cordless feature works great and Levolor has wonderful customer service. DH screwed up a few of the shades and they fixed them for free, even paying for the shipping, for something that was no fault of their own.

The one thing you're supposed to do is to raise them all the way up before you position them any lower. Guess it keeps them straight.

Stardecorating has free shipping (click the shipping on top of the page) up to 96" and will send free samples, too. We ended up going with a woven that I saw IRL at one of the big box stores so didn't need to order the samples.

Blubird, well so far so good. I let dh have the honors today. After we measured he still had a few questions and the girl at S&N was very knowledgeable. Later when he placed the order he tried to get a discount and managed free shipping on an order that normally wouldn't have qualified.

I recently received my blinds - decided on corded after all, since Levolor was the only company offering cordless and I was leary. So I ordered mine from Select Blinds and was very happy with the customer service and the product. They look and function just fine.

He had the conversation on speakerphone and I heard a message that the call would be recorded, so maybe they did.

If your doing a bay window where the shades are going to pretty much butt together, then because of the larger headrail you will have big gaps between shades. If it's an outside mount and space between them, then it's not an issue. I hvn't seen the cordless woven wood but have installed other cordless levelor products and the mechanism seem sturdy.

My now corded woven shades have barely 2 inches between them as they're outside mounted on the bay window, so as you said, it's not an issue.

I would have preferred to get cordless, but there seemed to have been some difficulty getting them at this point in time. So I settled - glad to have one thing taken care of!

Bali has cordless motorized natural shades, which are very nice. I have the non motorized version in my kitchen and dining room.
