Stucco is the wrong color.(pix)Photoshop help, squirrelheaven?
Comments (21)Have you had a look with strong direct sunlight? Few people realize how radically the color of light changes in the course of the day: pink at dawn, blue at noon, golden at dusk. Our brains are actually wired to compensate for this, but the subtleties of color can still trick us, especially when the 'color of daylight' is even more exagerated by the weather or season. I hate it when color charts have disclaimers like 'actual shades will vary': why bother with the chart, then? If the company won't step up, I'd paint it. This is a pretty big issue to try to live with, especially when it's so easily addressed....See MoreNeed opinions on front door color (pic heavy)
Comments (22)Thanks for everyone's opinion! I originally was thinking black, because its classic and I love it. However, my house is not classic. No matter how much I want it to be - it just isn't. Anyway... I literally took the fan deck out this morning and tried to find the shade closest to the existing shade on the doors and trim. Closest shade to the existing color on the BM fan deck is Waynesboro Taupe. It has more grey in it than I thought! What if I stay on that paint chip, and do the soft grey black color at the bottom, Dragon's Breath?? Horrible name, I know. I looked for Murkey Turkey and couldn't find it. LOL I could do browns too, the roof has plenty of brown in it, which is my main hesitation for doing the black. I was originally thinking this would be easy. I'd just do the black, since its in the brick. Now I'm concerned it would be competing against the overwhelming browns in the shingles. Maybe a grey-brown? Comments (37)my3dogs unfortunately we just painted the house in June, so we wont be able to change the color of the shutters for a few years at least. Awm03.. I definitely like the door better with the trim around it Thanks for the suggestion. I never would have thought of that. Also thanks for all your inside photo shop work. Wasn't thinking of that either. I was mainly concerned with outside appearance. For the photo, hubby did with layers and transparency, we first took a photo of the inside with the door open and then he worked his magic. I know nothing about photo shop but need to learn. I was totally impressed by your work! We've decided maybe against better judgment that were going to get the door with the bella grids. If we hate it. We'll try to sell it and get another. Comments (27)Wow, schoolhouse - I wish I knew there were different glass options for the Anderson doors. I wonder now what I have. I paid about $400 for the door through National Lumber. I think I've decided to put the storm door on the front. I really appreciate everyones opinion on this, and all the good ideas and things to consider. I agree oopsie, it's so inviting to walk by someone's house who has the front door open (with the storm closed). My dog will definitely be happy. Once it's installed, I'll post another picture. I'm still waiting for the Baldwin hardware to come in, I don't know what the holdup is. As far as the potted plants - seems there are very few mums left; I may have missed the window. Pumpkins will have to suffice for now. Thanks again!...See Moreanitamo
