Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to your desktop click Here Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application. 1 Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish. 2 If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version. 3 Once the program has loaded, select "Quick Scan", then click Scan 4 The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient. 5 When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results. 6 Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. 7 When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note) 8 The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM. 9 Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply. I was using Spy Bot but will download from that link immediately. I so hope that is it. I am embarrassed to say that I was trying to restore because I could not rename some files no matter what I did (with the date in numericals). After trying for 2 days I said I would just restore to when I knew it was working. Thats how I found out the error thing. THEN I realized that the number lock was on ( has no light). Now you understand why I need help so often !!! Can not be returned but they will repair if needed. Just would prefer not to have to go that route if possible. Thank you again..

Thanks for all of the help! I have contacted Tech Support again. I was told that the 1GB of RAM that the Laptop came with is really not enough to run Windows Vista--even though it is industry standard to sell the PC that way. I was advised to upgrade to 2GB. I was told that Compaq would send me a shipping box and I could send the laptop for them to check over and restore it to original--But isn't that what I have already done 3 times? One problem is that there are only 2 slots and the RAM that is in there is 2-512s-so that means buying 2-1GBs. Tech support doesn't list anything larger than the 512s-so sending it in isn't an option for RAM. My second problem is that every web site I go on to find the right Memory for this PC, doesn't list the Compaq Presario C700. The sites that list the C700 don't list the NR Model-so I'm not sure what to buy. I can't use the Memory Scanner (located on some sites)-because when I try to log the laptop onto the internet I get the not responding error message way before I ever get this far. So... as soon as I can figure out what to buy I guess I'll opt to upgrade the Memory? Is this likely to fix my problem?? Any input is appreciated. Thanks again!!

I would download the itunes installer from Apple and run it without uninstalling. It should recognize that there is an existing installation and do a repair or something along those lines. But I would install with the installer rather than just trying the new updates. It could be that the files you're missing are files that aren't used all the time.
