Thanks for all your kind words. I am just getting into this and love it. My imagination runs wild all day thinking of projects to do.....just not enough time in a day (or experience yet) as far as staining, painting and texturing, that is coming soon. I have decided to do a project that might take a little while, new pictures posted on my site (webshots). I am thinking of a big basin with a molting volcano in the middle with water bubbling out of the center and red led lights to give it a real volcano look. So far I have started on the volcano. I will start on the basin next week. The whole thing should be about 25" wide by 25" tall. Hope it works as planned. Here is a link that might be useful: See new pics

This is great, Denise! And what a lovely rose, too. I have at least two forts rooted and am getting ready to try. My big problem is deciding which lovely will be used first. It must be a fragrant one! So I await the late summer flushes so that I can decide. I root every fort rootstock sucker I get. FWIW, I read that Dr Manners said these should be snapped off rather then cut off. It seems that the bottom part of the cane (I cut them in pieces) roots better. I am finding it quite hard to root. I would say that my haphazard methods have resulted in less then 10% success. Also, I attended a rose lecture several years ago and the nurseryman said one of the reasons fort was not used more is that it roots commercially about 30% of the time as compared to multiflora's 85% success. I now know in his mind it was all about the body bags. :)

bettyd, I think your arrangement looks wonderful! I've never tried stacked plates and hope my first attempt looks half as good. About your camera; I like the warm colors of the third picture best. When I got my first digital camera a couple years ago I would look at my finished pictures on the computer (kind of hard to see all the detail just on the camera's lcd). If I would take a shot like you did, several times in several different ways my computer would give me information when I ran the mouse over the thumbnail picture (such as flash or different icons for other settings I used). Hope I'm not confusing you. There are so many different brands of cameras out there. You have to figure out your own, but it is so much fun in the process. My friends laugh at me because I take pictures of everything! But then, when there's a "good" opportunity I feel like I have practised and am familiar with my camera.
