Leaky kitchen faucet, Moen single handle pullout
Comments (2)I'm no expert on Moen but that looks abnormal to me.ÃÂ Surely shouldn't be so much rusting. Many Moen faucets have a lifetime warranty to the original owner of the home in which they're installed ... so I suggest contacting them for assistance ... unless you're not the original owner and can't verify the purchase date, etc. My grandmother's Moen kitchen faucet developed some trouble recently, they sent several parts at no charge. The Moen phone rep was highly impressed that we have the original receipt from Dec 1997 so I could quote the store name, price, and even the time-stamp....See MoreDeciding on Kitchen Faucet (Delta, Moen or Hansgrohe)
Comments (10)We have Moen's Nori pulldowns in both of our kitchen sinks and like them a lot; IIRC I bought them at Lowe's which had the best price at the time. To switch from spray to stream (and vice versa), we don't need to turn off the water first, just push the button on the back of the pull-down part. I'm a big fan of Moen because of their lifetime warranty. Shortly before we moved into our new house last year, the Moen tub spout we originally installed about 20 years earlier in the old house started leaking, and the last time that happened, (10 years previously), we phoned Moen Canada customer service for a new shower valve cartridge, which they sent out cheerfully and for free. I had my doubts 9+ years on, but my husband called them, and sure enough, happily and for free, another shower cartridge was sent out immediately. That said, I've heard good things about Hansgrohe, Delta, and Costco customer service, so I'd just double-check on that. I see a $100 difference in price, not $200. Comments (2)I've had several Moen faucets, and have been generally satisfied. I had one that developed a leak after about 15 years, and they sent me a free replacement pronto as soon as I sent them a photo. I don't think you should form an opinion based solely on some anecdotal online reports since you can probably find similar reports on any other major manufacturer. There are any number of manufacturers, including Moen, who fit that bill. My criteria for faucets are: brand name U.S. manufacturer that's been around for decades; customer service that's readily available by phone; readily available parts; lifetime warranty. Faucets are not complex items, so even moderately priced ones from a reliable source should hold up well. Paying lots of money will not get you a faucet that will never leak or never need a replacement part, but it might get you a fancier-looking exterior design...See Moremom2reese
