It was 37F. this morning in Raleigh, but top growth has not stopped. It has been growing rather quickly sience April 16. Meh, your lawn looks awesome for such a short time and having all that dirty snow on it for months!! I just seeded today a small area of my yard with A-4 bentgrass. I just want to see what it does during the summer with homeowner care treatment. The golf courses here are loaded with bentgrass, but they have an Army of people, chemicals, tons of water, and a virtual open check book to buy anything they want to keep the grass green all year long. Keep the pictures coming...

That was interesting,I will be using the computer to look up things in my free time too. I have tons of books but they've been reread too much as it is. It sucks that these bugs and pathogens can wipe out a country full of a particular tree. If oak wilt gets big like that I'll have a nearly empty yard.Maybe the white oaks will be okay. One thing though, I can see fertilizing to help vigor but wouldn't that make the foliage more attractive to leaf eaters?You hear alot of conflicting things about fertilizing. I bought a big sack of powdered seaweed, it's supposed to have trace minerals and good for all plants. I read the " nutrients" and it has 9% sodium.Sorry for dragging on, I'm gonna see what the soil, mulch forum think of the seaweed, there is some interesting stuff on there, too. poaky1

Thank you Ingrid :-) The quilt is the L.L. Bean whole cloth quilt. It comes in green and blue also. I made several posts before ordering and the opinions were very mixed. I finally did it even though it's hard to choose something from a catalog. I really do like it though and I'm glad I did. I hate to take it off but switching things up keeps me from getting tired of either of them. The bed I stumbled on. I love sleigh beds but was not really wanting another wood in there with my antique mix of woods. When I saw the metal sleigh bed style I thought it was a perfect solution. It's the "Bittersweet" sleigh bed from Ashley Furniture. Very inexpensive! I'd love to see other seasonal bedding changes, I know some of you guys do it!

I love Matelasse, I have several coverlets and bedspreads in various colors and prints of Matelasse. I will add a light weight fleece blanket in the winter. I don't like a lot of covers, I generally am not under the covers much. I will have the cleaning lady take the blanket off this week. Might change to a new pretty summery print Matelasse I bought but have never used yet. I currently have my favorite one which is raspberry color on the bed. I find one of those with the sheets is just right, I prefer a very cool room. The ceiling fan is on high all year, plus I have a 10" fan that is aimed at my head on all the time, we have a good size metal antique style fan on a stand that I have on a fair amount of time. I must have lots of air movement on me, my Dad was the same way. I feel like I can't breathe if I don't. I really think that we could have gone with out the blanket this winter since it never got very cold.
