Dining chairs - two-tone or solid color?

We're ordering a two-tone table (black pedestal base, currant [reddish stain] top). We're trying to decide whether to order the chairs in just the black, or whether to have the seats in the currant stain. Our style is transitional, so I think we could get away with either one. Which one do you prefer, and why? Thanks

I would probably get the chairs in one finish to let the table have more emphasis.

I'm thinking the same...have the chairs in one finish (black) and leave the 2-tone for table only.

Our cabinets came in the wrong color and now second guessing original choice. Boxes are done as well as countertops so not changing blueprint. Looking for cabinet door suggestions thx! Including lots of pics! Blueprints: Considered these for top and bottom; bottom is close to original below but more brown Counter is Wilsonart Madura Pearl. it's a beautiful kitchen. enjoy! for really quality modern furnishings, check out Room and Board. for slightly lower budget (but still decent), look into West Elm and CB2. If those are too modern, Crate and Barrel is good too. (if you want to go really high end, Design With Reach is where you get the top brands like Eames and George Nelson --- but it's $$$$$$$$$.)

I need ideas on what color Will Go with faded burlap from valspar. I painted the Bottom half of my dining room this color and I dont want a White for the top. Suggestions?

Yep, I vote solid black chairs also. The table top would be the accent.

it depends on how much attention you want to draw to the chairs..the two tone will draw attention but will likely be beautiful..also depends on how much busyness you have in the room..two tone will add visual clutter if the room is cluttered..but will be stunning if it is sparse

Thanks for the responses! You know, I'd not even considered the fact that doing the chairs in a two-tone would detract from the table, but you are absolutely right, palimpsest. And ronbre, your point of it creating visual clutter is well taken. These will be in an informal dining area off the kitchen, not in a room of their own, so keeping the chairs all black will likely be the best choice. It gives a bit more polished look, too, I think.

I appreciate the feedback. Now I need to stop dithering and place my order. :-)
