I have the Silgranit Supersingle with the rear offset drain. I have a pullout trash on the left side and it works just fine. Same size trash can as my regular pullouts which are located elsewhere - 17 inches high.

numbersjunkie. I keep reading that it is best to get a right or left rear drain super single. The closest I've found so far, the drain was only slightly closer to the back then the front. Elkay's was a little further back then Blanco but neither were as far back as the centered rear drains. Where is this infamous corner drain I keep reading about? Would I have to go custom?

I'm doing the blancoprecis silgranit super single with the drain offset to the back. I've been assured by a couple of plumbers and the plumbing showroom saleswoman that there is room for trash under. We're doing a trash pullout so I'm not as concerned about the space under.

I had a hard time deciding b/w the Blanco rear offset and their side offset. I liked the quilting better in the rear offset. Then my granite fabricator, who sells sinks, told me that generally folks like the rear offset better. I can't remember why. That seemed good enough for me at this point to make a decision and move on to the next agonizing decision. It's called "decision prison" btw. ;)

I'm going to make this short as I'm so sleep deprived, but I've been told by two different people in the plumbing and fixture business that Blanco is by far the best for granite sinks. Their customers that complain about their granite sinks are the ones that have another brand. No staining, no scratching, no cracking. I didn't solicit any info about sinks of any kind when they offered this info. I thought it was very telling that I was told the same thing in two completely unrelated circumstances. I like Blanco's colors better too.

The link below shows the sink I have. I have a large 1 HP disposal on the right and there is still lots of room for supplies under my sink - I also have soap dispenser on the left side of my sink connected by a NeverMT to a huge bottle of dish soap that sits on the right.

With respect to staining, we are just realizing that the way we live, with a kitchen overdue for renovation for the last 15 years, we are PIGS. We leave the dirty dishes in the sink all night long... Are you all sure Silgranite will be able to tolerate this?????????????

I guess the panic is realizing that if we ever need to change it, the new sink will have to be by one of the exact same shape, because of the granite countertop, am I right?

numbersjunkie, how did you pick that silgranit as opposed to the purely undermount version? Did you undermount that one? Did you pick it for the side drain?

@breezy -- as one who shares the OP's "piggy" ways (lol) and is also considering silgranite, I would like to clarify your response:

"Yes" that silgranite can handle dishes/messes left overnight? OR
"Yes" that she will be stuck with the shape because of the granite cut?

I have the Silgranit (black) Anthracite and I doubt anything would stain it. I never read anything about stains on the new version (Silgraint 2?) that they started making a few years ago - regardless of color.

Any sink cutout for an undermount sink will likely be a problem if you want to replace the sink.

I did undermount mine and chose it because of the drain location.

Sorry. Yes to it being able to handle dishes overnight. Absolutely. Go with silgranit.

kitchendreaming, there have been threads on this - I started one about hearing the "white silgranit looks plastic-y" - you can search that thread, as initially I wanted the white one too. I believe the overall consensus was it will be ok if it is really the one you want - you can scrub it - (I think at least a couple folks on here have one), but if any will show anything, the white one would - as white anything of course would show crud, stains, etc. more than a color would. Make sure you see them in person. I wasn't into brown at the start, but now I think that one will probably work best in my case - good luck, and I'm sure we will love our sinks!
