Backsplash needed, a year later.

We ran out of creative energy, money, and frankly, interest when we finally finished our whole house remodel in December 2010. But someone saw an old post of mine and sent me an email, and here I am- back!

We have run the range of backsplash interest from Oceanside iridescent whites/ creams, to 3-d heath ceramics ($$$!!) to simple glossy chartreuse fireclay ceramics, to white recycled glass, to basic white subway.

Some caveats:

The kitchen is completely open to the dining/ living/ entry.

We think larger tiles are more practical (fewer grout lines to clean), but love the texture possible in a mosaic.

Our house is white, natural woods, slate, and small pops of color in artwork and bathroom tiles.

Pics of the kitchen, our bathroom tiles, art details and tile ideas to follow.

Please, what do YOU think?

Cross-posting in Decorators, just because. THANKS!

oceanside glass (oxygen) is irregular textured shiny, but not smooth glass. imagine in a 5 or 6 inch square in a running bond?

heath, again. love the shape, 3-d nature, and color!
