I'm not sure if this is the look you want, but we have Caribbean Blue, one of the premium blends.

We don't have the 3M Colorquartz brand, but our pool is the royal blue look that you are probably talking about, but if you are not wanting lagoon look water, then I don't know if you are going to be able to get true royal blue. In the sun our pool is that beautiful royal blue, but in the shade, it is lagoon look. You may have to go with a lighter shade of blue.

In looking at the website, I don't think your going to get the color you want unless you have the "total coverage." And Dischnell is right in that the a darker blue pool will look like a lagoon in the shade.

I am thinking of doing their new 'Tahoe Blue' Splash with extra blue, or maybe even a tad of black added in. More than likely just extra blue. My landscaper said he liked the Sandstone, and the Flagstone, but they look really dark, and I have heard that when using a darker color for the pool bottom that the pool water stays a lot warmer, and we have NO shade at all.

We don't have any shade either on our pool. It is in full sun all day long. What I mean by "when your pool is in the shade," I mean on a cloudy day or as the sun goes down. Eventually everyone's pool is shaded over at some point. That is when ours is lagoonish.

dischnell-You make a good point. At some time all pools are in the shade. I think I am going to stick with the 3M Tahoe Blue Splash with extra Tahoe Blue added. It really looks the best when held next to our tile....which I don't even think I like, but that's another story, and it's too late now anyway. I get mixed reviews on it. Our concrete guy was here placing the forms, and I asked him if he liked it. His response...'I don't dislike it, I'm just not sure that I do like it.' Not sure what that means. Ha. Most everyone likes it because it is different. Oh well once everything else is done, it will be just fine. I just wish that I really liked it.

Did you post pictures of your tile?

dischnell-No I haven't. Since we moved I cannot find the device to my camera to be able to be able to do so. It is NPT VR682. I think once everything is done it will look fine. It doesn't jump out at you, but that's a good thing for me. It should blend in well with the waterfall, and the colored and stamped concrete. They pour tomorrow, and I am nervous as I have to leave town in the morning. Yikes!

No, that tile is nice. I don't know why you aren't happy with it. I can see how that would blend well with rock work. I haven't seen your entire pool, but I think that tile looks nice. If we didn't choose a mosaic tile, I'm sure we would've went with something very similar in a 6x6.

Eeeks!! I would be in panic mode. I wish I had a picture of the PB model pool that I could post as they used the 3M midnight blue. We are getting the 3M french grey. Here is a picture of the french grey interior that our PB sent to me on another pool they did. Good luck!!

I'm in the same boat right along with nth hour decision making on concrete color and coping color. I have no actual samples to look at and most all the pictures I've seen here have a pink tone to them so it's hard to tell.
My colors are based around rusts, dark grays and gold.
If anyone has any suggestions of what certain colors look like please comment or send photos

Regarding concrete color... we have so many different tones of browns going on with our Cameron Brown flagstone coping and artificial rock that we decided to just use acid washed natural grey concrete for our deck and then we plan to stain it once it has completely cured.

Had a horrible experience when I picked a waterline tile that looked pink once applied and then the guys who painted our artificial rock originally went with pinkish/red tones that looked horrible. Thankfully both have now been corrected. Did not want to have the same problem with our concrete deck because I've seen and heard so many disasters with pink tones.

As for 3M colorquartz: we were originally planing on using Cornerstone to try to get a Tahoe blue color but at the last minute decided to go with Stonescapes Tropics Blue mini pebble. It is going on the pool as I type.

WOW great looking pool! Thanks for the link. We are contracted for stamped and colored concrete with the concrete color premixed. That's how our contractors do it. I hear pro's and con's about this. Anyway, most pictures that I've liked are either stained.. acid washed or both. Do you know if there is a price difference in the applications? Also, what will be the color you'll using for the stain and I guess I need to ask the brand as well??? We have a stacked ledgestone ret. wall in the colors I provided earlier framing the pool and then we have two tile selections we're still deciding on which are "Aztec-peacock" and/or "African Slate thessa" if you are familiar. Can you tell I'm feeling just a tad bit desperate??? I have to give definite colors by this afternoon. We have made some selections, but how do you know off a tiny little colored piece of paper??? If you or anyone else can help great! otherwise, I guess it will be live and let live; right?

qa4me: With all the choices and decisions one's head could just about spin right off couldn't it?!!

We were originally going to go with a stamped concrete deck but after the coping was finished it looked so good that I didn't want the deck competing with it so we opted for just plain ordinary acid washed concrete. I can't tell you how relieved and comfortable I felt going that route rather than trying to pick colored concrete and releases and all that stuff. Plus the plain acid washed concrete saves us a bundle of $ (thousands). I plan to do the staining myself. As for brand. I like what I see on the Kemiko site. I like that their Gallery states which stains were used in each photo and they also have a color chart plus lots of DIY information. Not sure which color(s) I will go with yet... have lots of time to figure that out as we have to wait at least a month before staining. Hope this helps.
