Pincushion Swap signups

Since Jen's so busy, with her permission I will start signups for the pincushion swap. We can still have an April gift mailing but we'll get those names swapped soon and you can get started.

- I will mix up the names and send you your "secret" partner. I will e-mail out swap partners March 1st.

- We will try to keep size smaller, not over 4"x4"x4".

- We will be swapping handmade pincushions. No store bought for this swap.

- We will ship to our partners to arrive no later than April 15th, sooner if made. Receipts will be acknowledged on this forum as we go along.

To sign up, please e-mail me via the forum with your name, address, e-mail and forum name. I'll send a confirming e-mail to you directly so you have my direct e-mail.

MARYANNE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW!!!!!!! I received your box today, and lady, you sure pack a great swap box!!! HOLY-COW!!!! Gals, this huge box was FULL of plants and she also managed to get a few fun items in too! For reds - 5 fans of Granny Garnet Iris, Lillium in 1) Samur, 2) LaToya, 3) Avignon Whites - Yarrow, astilbe "Rock & Roll", White leaf with green margin hosta Blues - Halycon Hosta, tradesandia "Purple Profusion", Night Ember daylily and of course, Blue Fescue grass! LOL!! And just for summer fun, there was also a nice clump of mint as well as FIVE Rose of Sharon starts!! Now, for the fun stuff - Earthly also sent a red/white tablecloth, 2 plastic USA cups, the cutest little wooden Americana angel, incense, a new fairy/frog address book, a flag keychain, a great tin sign in Americana which says "3 cheers for the red, white & blue", and even a US flag! To top off this red, white & blue theme, she included a Patriot Hosta!!!!! MaryAnne, I really am thrilled with EVERYTHING you included in this great swap box! Jean, glad you liked it, and glad it got there in time. It was delayed by a week because of the postage issue you mentioned. I thought about destuffing it and sending it in an envelope, and considered making a different 'flat' pincushion, but in the end I bit the bullet and paid the ridiculous postage. I don't know how people do the EBay thing here in Canada. Our postage is way too high. Anyway, glad you liked it. I have a picture and can post it if you want. Amy, It was great but we missed you and wished you had been there with us. Jen, I would hope so! If you didn't take home enough plants to keep your busy, then cleary that means you must take home a lot more next year. Mia, They both do vine and do best on a trellis. However, you could let them sprawl if you want. With the Armenian cukes, I grow them both ways....letting each plant climb or spray as it prefers, and get a great harvest either way. With the summer squash plants that are C. moschata, they vine wildly and will do so whether on the ground or climbing something. I find them easier to control on a trellis. In lieu of a trellis, how about an extra large bamboo teepee for each plant? I can just picture a certain little Sprout playing inside each teepee this summer. Dawn

Is it possible to swap with more than 1 person or are we limited to just 1 swap per participant..I am open to extra swaps if we have that option....

I think you could put your name in a couple of times Bill, don't you ladies?

If anyone wants to make more than one, let me know. You all have my e-mail address. I suppose it depends on people having time and then there are people like Bill who sews above all else. I will shuffle names accordingly but lets limit it to two or three or I might have to use a calculator.

Bill could swap with several people, *and* everyone else only with one. We're not sending and receiving to the same person, are we? Couldn't you just put in his name as many times as he wants, and he will send to that many people? And several different people will be sending to Bill. Just a suggestion...

Count me in as well! I've been going around looking for filling for the pincushions, having some trouble but should be able to find it soon enough . . . this swap sounds like fun :)

I've got you, Cziga. I already have your address.

Remember you can use bird gravel for filling. Craft stores also sell the sand for arranging silk flowers. That works too.
