Syesha was great as ever, a lot more animated than usual and totally delightful. Too bad the producers donÂt want her to win. Too bad voters donÂt want her to win. If this were a singing competition, it would be between her and David Cook. Unfortunately, everyone has their own agenda and definition of what the show is.

Jason was just kidding, right? I mean really, he was just joking, I know. Please, somebody, since you wonÂt put me out of my misery, would you shoot him then??? Put him out of his own misery. LOL

Brooke, well once she got going, she was really able to pull me in. I loved the vulnerability she expressed in that song, completely gave herself up to one of my favorite ALW creations. I loved it even though Randy and Simon didnÂt. Still, itÂs time for her to go. She needs to get a clue where she is, like on the largest stage in the country and not her living room with a hairbrush. Wish someone would tell her. Oh yeah, Paula did  over and over. So did Randy.

Nothing great from David A., just his usual sweet self. IÂm actually beginning to lose faith in his creativity, but heÂs still a good singer. Not totally sure heÂs Idol material anymore.

Carly really rocked the stage tonight! I think this was her second best performance. Finally, she seems to be connecting like she believes what she is singing, rather than just belting it out.

David Cook really MOVED ME!!! That guy is a marvel. Not quite as powerful as the song actually is, but great nonetheless. Loved what he did with the ending. Sooo David! Gooo David!

Jason was like a lost soul tonight. I thought Brooke was better, but that stopping and starting certainly didn't help her performance. I liked David Cook, but not as much as the judges did. I wasn't crazy about the way he ended the song. I was pretty much with him until that point. David Archuleta did a great job. I would say the same for Syesha. I really like her. Carly was in her element, too.

I felt a little sorry for Andrew Lloyd Webber tonight.

LOL....I'm laughing because I didn't see Bestlawn's post before I posted. She loved David Cook's ending; I disliked it. That's what makes the world (and the KT) go round.

LOL Why? Because some of them mutilated his songs?
That's what I kept thinking. Mainly Jason, anyway.

Bestlawn, yes, exactly. It must have been a learning experience for him, at any rate. He's used to working with major theater talents.

I loved it because it was typically David and because he did it well. He had to insert himself in there somewhere. I kept looking for something but couldn't imagine what he would do with Music Of The Night of all songs. Then there it was at the end. Love that guy!

Syesha was very good tonight. David Cook was exceptional tonight. Carly rocked out.

I really expected to be bored like I was last week but it was good tonight.

I had a hard time watching it tonight..I don't like "Broadway" music...never have....thought it might sneak up on me as I got older....but I'm more than half way there and it just isn't happening.

I don't care for Jason...but I felt sorry for him tonight...this wasn't his thing at all...

I actually thought Shyesh did the best job. I could imagine her on stage.

I didn't like this music at all.. but agree with Kathleen I think it's Jason or Brooke's time to go. They were both awful. I liked David Cook tonight and David Archuleta the best tonight. Shyesha and Carley were also pretty good... I am hoping David Cook wins though ...that boy can sing anything!

Tonight is the only time I have thought Syesha did well. She was in her element for a change.

Except for David Cook, the others were lost in the ALW music, and even he struggled with it. The ending was lame.

I really like David A, but he is not ready yet. My boy Jason seemed to know this was all a joke as for as he was concerned. Bless his heart!

I guess it will still be David C. in the end.

Even though I think the calibre of singers is quite good this season, I haven't liked ANY of the songs they've used in theme nights for several weeks now. Next week it is one of my favorite's - Neil Diamond. Hope whoever is left does justice to his songs.

I've liked Jason up until tonight. If it goes by this year's established routine, it will be a male going home this week and he would be it. I know I'm in the minority, but I'd send Carly home. Can't stand to look at her or her husband's skin.....Why do people DO that to themselves? I know she owns a tatoo shop, but REALLY......

I loved the music this week! Syesha is usually horrible and should have been gone long ago, however this week she was good, I was surprised, but not good enough to win. Jason must go! He should have gone before Christy - both he and Syesha have been lucky to go this far. I thought David Cook was the best this week and it will be between him and David A. in the end. David A. is awesome. Carly was good this week, Brooke was okay.

I think it will be Jason or Brooke that says goodbye this week too. I hope it is Jason. Syesha, David C. and Carly were my favourites this week. I don't think Carly will make it to the end but she will be pretty close. David A. is a good singer but he still has some growing up to do. He gets the tweenie girls votes which will carry him through further.

Redcurls, I'm totally with you on Carly. I'm just hoping that her song choice lost her a lot of votes from middle America and we'll see the last of her tonight. And it's not even just the tattoos with her--she NEVER seems to connect with the songs, and they always have to show her either super-close up, or super far away--to avoid turning a family show into an X-rated one with that bouncing boob thing she does.

Otherwise, have to agree mostly with the general consensus. Jason and Brooke (I like her, but she's in trouble) are getting ready to pack their bags--if not tonight, soon.

Bestlawn--I agree with you. I think David C's ending was absolutely essential, and it made the rest of the song work for him. Although, I liked the ending he did onstage better than the one in the recap (which is filmed and spliced from the dress rehearsal earier in the day)--they were slightly different and the 'real' one was better.

Shucks! I sat outside most of the night watching FireFlys and missed it.

My vote is for David A. ( Im a mom ,hes a cute kid,what can I say) Carly was great this time,but the key seemed a bit high for her to reach. David Cook was great( didnt like the ending) and I think hes the winner,but ,all this said,I dont really give a hoot one way or another,,,LOL!

I really loved Syesha's performance, thought she really stepped up last night. I like her most of the time, not enough to win the whole thing tho. I too think it is time for Jason to go, and Brooke too. I don't like her attitude and I don't think she is able to step out of her comfort zone. I can't stand watching Carly.

Syesha actually impressed me last night. I think she is more suited for Broadway.

Jason needs to go. I like his personality, but he also isn't the Idol this year.

Brooke was a disappoint last night. I've liked her since the beginning, but she isn't going to win.

David A. did an amazing job with Think of Me. Changing it to a pop sound was a good idea. The entire time I had the version in my head from the most recent movie and sat there thinking "please do not do the opera part, PLEASE". LOL

Carly had a good performance last night. I like her, but I think that she'll pull in 3rd of the competition.

I loved David Cook's performance, but I'm biased because I love Phantom of the Opera music. I was glad that he went for the note in the middle and the end. "...where you want to BE" and "...music of the night"

Jason or Brooke will go home tonight.

I'm still rooting for my 2 faves - both Davids. Jason butchered that beautiful song. It's his time to go. My co-worker thinks he's the greatest & can't stand David Cook. Needless to say, we disagree, but then she's 1/2 my age, too, which accounts for a lot with music. I liked Syesha a lot last night, Carly was good, too. I'm hoping Jason goes tonight & Brooke next week, or vice versa would work also.

What I think makes American Idol so successful is that all of us see something so special in our favorites.

I have never liked Jason Castro, but he has lots and lots of fans. Totally out of element last night; had no clue, but I'm sure fans voted for him in the hope that he'll get another chance.

My favorite was Michael Johns, but he was not a favorite nor the best singer. I liked his choice of songs and the way he looked...hey, we're being honest here, right? LOL!!!

My choice at this point would be David A.....he has the biggest fan base (who vote!)

WELL.... I still like Jason LOL! I'm not going to judge him on just this performance, it just wasn;'t his type of music....and not mine either. I don't like this kind of music either, some I can take it or leave it. I thought Jason has done well up to last night. I also love Carly! She was great last night. And I have to say Syesha had her best night ever last night. I haven't cared for her, but she brought it last night. Really all in all they were all good to me.....Brooke screwed up but she recovered well.....won't judge her on one night either knowing what she can do. I think they all did good tonight considering the music they had to choose from LOL! I think win or lose this competition David Cook will go far...he's really, really good!

Poor Jason, he really didn't have a clue what he was singing! Not his kind of music at all. I don't think he put much thought into his performance at all (as usual for him I find) Time for him to go.
Brook should have just continued on instead of stopping. It's not Tiny Talent Time!

He's not my favourite for sure, but I can't see how David Cook can NOT win. Personality/talent/comfort on the stage combined - there's no one to beat him.

I loved Syesha last night. Normally she comes across to me as quite bland and ordinary, despite the fact that she's incredibly talented and has a fantastic voice. There's just nothing different about her, I suppose. Last night, however, she shone. I think Broadway is more her thing that being a pop star.

Carly and Jason are my top choices. Carly is just amazing - I love her, but she doesn't seem to have the huge fan base that a few of the others have. Jason doesn't have a huge range, and he's not terribly flexible in his styles, but I think his voice is neat and interesting, and very unique. I love listening to his version of songs. He reminds me a bit of John Denver.

David A. is a great singer. I think he'll really be something in, say, 10 years or so. He doesn't seem to have a lot of confidence right now. His voice is very polished and professional, but he never really seems comfortable with himself. I think that'll hold him back.

I adore Brooke. She incredibly beautiful, and she seems so sweet. I love her style, too. Very Joni Mitchell. And she is so emotional. I don't think she'll last much longer, though. I think she'll be the one to go tonight. I predict she and Jason will be the bottom 2, but Jason probably has more fans, so he'll last another week or so.

My guess is Brook will be parting. This is the second time Brook's done this starting over thing. I don't think she's got the fan base Jason does and it'll be between the two of them after their dismal performances last night. I cannot stand the way she looks all pouty during critiques and I bet I'm not the only one.
