Thanks Perky for the kind words! I can't wait to see your photos. It amazes me how many different styles of screened porches we have seen just on this forum. I love the brick pavers, too. I don't know if I could have done those on this porch..since it's a full story up...I don't think so. But if I were screening in on a lower level or ground level...I would love to use the brick pavers. The look of brick is so warm and cozy to me and you can water your plants without having to worry about the water splashing on the floor. I really like the stamped concrete pictures I've seen here, too. With this porch we just had built, I am going for an old fashioned looking screened porch...with the white wicker. The forum may not still be going on come Spring...but if it is...or a similar forum...I'll post some photos once I get the porch furnished, now that I know how. I bought an old china cabinet/side board I'm going to paint a soft green or a periwinkle blue...or some pretty whimsical color...it will be on the porch to store things in...like dishes/china for dining. I've been looking for an old drop leaf table I can paint to put on the porch. It will stay closed down until I want to have a candlelight dinner party out on the porch. Hard to imagine that happening when my it's 23 degrees outside and snow on the deck. I have faith though...spring/summer will come again! :-)

It was not easy to track it down to be honest. But the rep from Koma was able to give me the name of a couple of distributors in the area and I made many phone calls to try to track it down. I called one of the distributors and she gave me names of all of the dealers within about a 3 hours drive and I called all of them. I finally found a distributor who sold to a building company about 45 min away and we paid one price for everything, including shipping & delivery. I think it was around $22/board. That distributor had 109 boards in stock and we needed 106. You can get them directly from Koma but they only sell in bundles of 220 or something and it was about double what we needed and didn’t make sense to pay that much and we didn’t know anyone who may want to buy the other extra boards. And you’d have to pay to get the boards shipped from AL where they are located. I will look and see if I kept any of the info for the distributors (but they may not be same in your area I guess) but the Koma rep (info on their website to call them) may be able to help you.

Well...you may have more issues than you know. You are concerned about how the tile was laid in your screened porch area. The spacing of individual tiles in your photos looks normal. The spacing adjacent to the shingle wall does not look normal. More important, however, is how will rain water and blown water which will intrude into your screen porch be prevented from penetrating the basement below your porch, and how will it be encouraged to drain to the outside of the porch? This is a significant waterproofing issue, much more important for the longevity of your house than how close the tile is laid to your shingle siding...

We used composite decking for the floors of our screened porch and our deck and are very happy with our choice. We live in red dirt country and have 2 big dogs who often have muddy feet. The floor just washes clean with a hose. Our porch is framed in aluminum so it is maintenance free, too. We rented a house that had pressure-treated flooring for the screened porch and the deck. Maintenance of the outdoor lumber was on-going. Heat, humidity, rain, snow take such a toll on pressure-treated lumber. Our builder installed screen between the floor joists and the porch floor to keep the insects out of the porch. Love the idea! In two houses we've had screened porches without the floor screen and had a lot of bugs that came in through the spaces between the floor lumber.
