sis2two, do you think the lacy curtains don't work because of their ivory color or because they are lacy? (Or both?)

Personally, I don't think window treatments have to work with trim as much as with other major decorative elements in a room. So, in your case, the color of the bedding in conjunction with the metallic grey (or black) color of your bed, etc. would be the things to coordinate with. But perhaps what you need is something else to tie the curtains to the bed and bedding....what about an ivory or perhaps a white and ivory carpet or rug? Then, you'd have something with ivory in it placed between the bed and the curtains and window trim.

lynxe-thanks for your reply. I do have an oriental rug which has an ivory background. The other colors in it are a dark brown, a little gold and some of the blue gray of my wall color. What I'm finding is that my bedding is ivory while the window panels that I'm finding lean more towards a yellowy cream or ecru color. I had some panels from PB and they even had a yellowy cast to them. My sleigh bed is a distressed white with some dark iron showing through. It actually is more the color of my bedding than a white though.
