My find of the day. I'm a happy camper

We were getting groceries and stopped in at a store that sells everything from electronics to pet beds. Nothing is top of the line by any means, but for some things, it's fine.

On the clearance table was a wide-mouth Black and Decker food processor. New. It was discounted, because the mini-bowl wasn't there. The box was kind of banged up, maybe someone bought it and returned it and they couldn't put it on the shelf with that missing piece.

I made sure that everything else was there....slicing blade, chopping blade, even a little dough blade, manual, etc. So I snatched it up. I'm thrilled, because it was only $19.99!!!!

Glad you found your good deal. If you contact B/D they may send you the mini bowl. Be sure and give them the correct model number.

Christin, other than the Sempervivums and hardy Sedums all my Echeverias and other tender succulents winter in a cool greenhouse. I have kept an Echeveria alive planted in the ground by upturning a black 2 gal. pot over it when the temps dropped, I think it was Echeveria elegans. It's not so much the cold it's the wet that does them in. A lot of them can tolerate 32* for a time. I have a 3 tiered plant stand with lights in the basement I should experiment with a few this winter. When I get mine all rounded up and sorted out I'll post a few pictures of the ones I have. I would say the center of the arch is about 6 feet. I'm just over 5' and it easily clears my head, even with the beans hanging down. Some are on the outside, of course, but the bulk of them drop inside as they grow. They are Malibu pole beans. I used to do Kentucky Wonder, but these are more tender, have very few strings and a slightly sweeter taste. I have grown them for 2 years and really like them. I think they are more productive, but don't really have the stats to back that up :).

They are a great appliance - I have two and use them frequently, especially when I find peppers on sale - chop them, freeze them and use them year around.

I had a food processor......an older moulinex. I've been wanting a new one for a while, and loved the B&D and Kitchen Aid types.

They're invaluable for scalloped potatoes and bread crumbs! :) Coming across the one that I wanted for that price, I'm just so happy. I've got my old one on Freecycle.

Good for you! I had a mini-chopper I really liked. One day I couldn't find the clear plastic bowl. Waited a couple of weeks, never found it, so I threw out the rest-essentially the electric base. The bowl still hasn't shown up, and it's been a couple of years. We found a regular food processor in my MILs home after she passed, but it didn't work. That's why it was in the basement, not the kitchen!
