Thank you, everyone. Raven, you hit the nail on the head...I wasn't using my regular AOL password. DUH. :) It works perfectly! Thank you, daylilydazed, for the heads up about checking the web AOL spam folder from time to time. This is such a great group of people. You are willing to share your time and talents and it is greatly appreciated. One more question. If I wanted to add my husband's AOL screen name so he can use Thunderbird, too, do I just go through the same steps I went through to set up the account? Is creating a new email user the same as creating a new account? Thank you. Pam

When I save an email in Thunderbird, I save to Local Folders where I have several sub folders. When I open a subfile to read one of the saved emails, everything is still on the email including the senders email address. I do not know if the little ball is something due to Visa, I use XP Pro but my version of Thunderbird is the same as yours. To create the subfolders under Local Folders, right click on Local Folder and then right click on Local Folder, choose New Folder, when the little box comes up give the folder a name and save it.

It seems that the mail you had in Thunderbird is gone so at this point I would open your address book in Thunderbird and use the tools > option choice to export your address book. I would then use the Revo Uninstaller (free if you don't have it) at it's highest setting and unintall Thunderbird then download the newest version and install it and set up your account again. You could then import your address book from the file you saved. If you go to att.net and check your mail there you may find that much of it is still there. It depends on your settings in Thunderbird.

Hi Zep, Well, I learned how to paste a print screen image into a post. :) I had already changed my "sents" to go to the local folder and had added a folder for Sents other than the default. Does this look right? The article still doesn't explain why my posts aren't being sent/timing out. I really love Thunderbird, but I'm afraid I might end up being a yahoo customer. :)
