A site to download books?

Hi Kids,

Do any of you use a web site to download audio books? If so, what site do you use? I have so much stuff I need to be doing around the house and yard but I also what to read some good books. My MP3 player would be perfect! Our local library offers this service but their titles are a bit limited. I know there are several sites that you can subscribe to but I don't know which one is best or what to look for once I get there. Any advice on what site is good for this? Thanks, Kids.

audible.com is probably the best known. It's an Amazon company. You have to join, and I never wanted to pay the fee.

Some classics are available free from itunes, but I'm not sure if you can download to an MP3 from itunes.

This site is all free. There are books,(audio and text), music and many, many other things here. There are no new things, only things that are public domain, but lots of interesting, entertaining things.

You need no book for chickens. You need a decent sized fenced yard, a shelter/egg laying space and water. But three chickens are pretty much a waste of time and effort unless you live someplace that has good weather year round so you don't have to buy chicken feed. Otherwise store bought eggs would be cheaper. Three chickens MAY produce three eggs on good days and NO eggs in winter months when there is less daylight. My chickens lay enough to pay for their own feed in the winter time plus eggs for us and a little extra cash. During good months(non-winter weather) they feed us and put more extra cash into the till.....But we have 40 chickens.

Check your library. It is possible they have the capacity to download books. The Utah State Library offers two sites for downloading books. All will download to your pc. Most can be burned to a cd or copied to an mp3 player. A small but growing number can be copied to your iPod. Utah's audio books comes from NetLibrary and and Overdrve. Lori

Check your local library, too. Mine lends audio books and ebooks. You don't even have to go to the library - just download them over the internet, using your library card and a PIN issued by the library.

Thanks, Kids. Yes, I download to my computer and then to my MP3. At least that is how I have done it when using our local Library service. I'll check out audible.com. I have seen a lot of the free sites and they look great but the ones I have visited do not have the current titles that I am interested in. Thanks, there is so much out there that I don't know.
