Ideas needed for baby shower game

We are having a baby shower for a co-worker tomorrow. One idea we had was to put together an advice book for babies. I saw what some of the others have put together and it is very funny and/or very creative. One person put together the Top 10 Reasons to have a baby - this was very funny. Another put a funny Q&A thing. Still another wrote a more serious story and put little clip art within the text so that you read the picture along with the story. I'm at a complete loss! Any ideas?

Here's a fun one!! I love this game. It utilizes various candy/candy bars. It's essentially a match/memory game. You'll create a board with 30 squares, each numbered 1-30. Under each number (they'll need to be removable cards), you'll place the 'description/word' of something related to pregnancy/baby (each will be in 2 places - see list below for words). You'll go around the room and have a person pick 2 numbers. If they get a match, they win the candy corresponding to that description. If they don't get a match, the words get covered back up again. It's up to each player to remember what words were under which numbers.

Here is the list of descriptions and their candy.

Baby Name - Baby Ruth
Twins - Mike & Ike
Triplets - Three Muskateers
Ob/Gyn - Butterfinger
Big Baby - Whoppers
Hemmerhoids - Hot Tamales
Epidural - Lifesavers
Umbilical Cord - Red Vines (or Twizzlers)
Conception - SKOR
Preemie - Runts
Breastfeeding - Milky Way
Engorged Breasts - Mounds
Cost to have a baby - 100 Grand
Mommy Nap Time - Take Five
Baby Daddy - Sugar Daddy

We played this game at my shower, it was so fun. Our list was slightly different but I couldn't remember all of them so I found some others online. If there's any candy you can't find, just make the list shorter and use less numbers on your board.

I just had a baby shower for my daughter. We passed around ribbon and each guest cut one as long as they thought they needed to go around my daughter's tummy. Was fun to actually measure them and we saved the pieces of ribbon that they cut. Each person signed their piece of ribbon too and we saved them for her babybook! I made some premade scrapbooking pages that would include pieces of advice from each person attending. When I sent out the invites, I included the small cards for them to think of something to write to the baby or my daughter...advice for them! Something that my daughter and her daughter can look over whenever they want. A great way to include the guests/friends into her baby scrapbook! I bought some "babies" made out of blankets and sleepers on Ebay and they were adorable. The theme was Sugar and Spice, everything nice.....and it was worked into the menu.....lots of sweet(small cakes, molded mints, etc) and even some spicey appetizers! And almost everything was PINK! Just was fun! And of course...........LOTS of pictures! Just a wonderful memory made.......and expressions of support for my daughter! I hope you had fun.......and that YOU had time to enjoy it all! Last 3 baby showers I went to played: Let each person pull a length of toilet paper off a roll, the one that's piece fits around mom-to-be the closest wins.2nd game, fill a bowl with uncooked plain white rice. Mix in several packages of loose safety pins. Hold the bowl over each persons head, they reach up and grab a handfull of rice and pins. The person who grabs the most safety pins wins. You need a 2nd person to be standing there with a bowl or styrofoam plate that the player can dump their handfull of rice and pins in and it can be counted before dumping back in the rice & pin bowl. It is a lot of fun when you can get male guests to play too. 3rd. game have a list of items used for baby, scramble words and see who is first to unscramble correctly all words. You can see I have been to baby showers with the past 6 months. Oh, nice suggestion, ask everybody to give a book instead of a card with gift. I found a baby cloth book at one of the craft shows I did for last baby. Mom-to-be really liked it.

We usually hand out the thank you card envelopes, for each guest to fill out with name and address. Then these are placed in a container and pulled out one by one for prizes periodically while the gifts are being opened. But we tend to have several small items so that every person gets a gift, rather than a few larger things for only a few people to win. There is also gift bingo. Print out empty bingo grids and ask the guests to fill out the squares with names of items they THINK might be opened. Then as the gifts are opened, they cross off the items. Bingo for one line, two lines, four corners, full card, etc. If you are giving out name tags or pins (we call them favours), make one of them special somehow. Like a blue ribbon, something that is not too noticeable. Then give a prize to the person that gets the 'special' favour. Dances.

I do birds nests with chinese noodles and melted butterscotch chips. Sort of like "no bake" cookies except with the noodles and butterscotch for a "nest" color. Scoop with ice cream scoop and then hollow out center for nest shape. Fill with a few jelly beans or candy eggs of some other type. Can serve with our without Peep as a side . . . :)
