'you don't give me flowers ..anymore'
Comments (14)I get lots of garden stuff, too. Some for recent birthdays and Christmas have been seedling tools, paper pot maker, plant mister, garden and compost books, compost thermometer, Pro-Mix, circle hoe... My husband still buys me fresh flowers for the house, though. Once every week or two he comes home with a bouquet of flowers for me. I love it, because I love having fresh flowers in the house all year. Except roses, which cost too much and die too fast. He's learned that, and sticks to longer lasting, less expensive ones that I prefer. (Sending him to the grocery is a sure-fire way to get flowers.) Karen...See MoreIvy ring- how long will it live before getting too woody?
Comments (3)I'm suspecting that the regular root-pruning will keep it youthful for a while to come. It might slow down, but Hedera seems to be able to keep on sprouting from old wood. Just pondering - if it was 'old and gnarly' with lots of character - more like an ancient bonsai - how could that be effectively displayed, perhaps?...See Morering..... ring.....calling Bill V.
Comments (107)Bill, Did you think I was finished asking questions??? Of course not. Tomorrow I'm sealing the grout. I have a white cast iron tub I want to protect. Should I put the plywood over the tub while I seal? Would it be better to take off the plywood and try and cover the tub with towels. SCI said I had to spray it on and not roll it or use a rag. It will run down to the tub so how do I protect it? Will it damage the finish if it gets on the bathtub? I know this is a simple question but look what happened when I got involved with my grout application. Donna...See MoreEggs: Does anyone eat poached or hardboiled anymore
Comments (98)Beverlyal...goodness, I hope I didn't come across as one who thinks anyone's taste in food is superior to that of anyone else. Jeepers, I have a secret penchant for Chef Boyardee's Beef-a-Roni (which amuses my husband no end), so who am I to take on airs! :D I was simply puzzled at your expressed distaste for poached eggs, since you and I are in complete agreement regarding cooked-white, runny-yolk, and if the poached egg in question meets those criteria, it just tastes like an over-medium or a properly soft-boiled egg to me...the butter for the poached being provided by the hollandaise, and for the soft boiled, by the toast I eat it on. But, it may well be that you taste something I do not, or perhaps the texture difference turns you off. As you say, it would be boring if everyone had the same tastes...there would be more competition for favorite foods as well! :D By the way, there are many things that I'm lukewarm on that I could eat with pleasure if they were smothered in hollandaise....mmmmm!...See Morepluckymama
