I started out on the Florida Gardening Forum, then found this one, and I spend the most time on these two. I have visited others out of curiosity: Pets, Sewing, Natives, Garden Junk, Recipes, Cookware, and some others. I think all of them are of value, but Quilting on the whole has the most supportive people who are willing to welcome newbies and share their knowledge and at the same time are comfortable in asking for advice without feeling intimidated. I posted a question once on one forum about a certain type of conifer that I had just bought and was derided for only buying the common stuff found at the big box stores so I knew right away they weren't very welcoming of non-experts' participation. So it seems that there are some forums that only encourage expert participation which is fine if you're searching for an answer to a question but not too friendly for us unwashed people who don't know everything about everything! I'm with Rosa, life is too short for grumps and trolls.

LRy511, since you posted a picture of your beautiful backsplash with the smaller cabinet over the sink and glass shelf, I did a search for your kitchen. Your title picture I had printed since I love the running bond pattern you used which I have decided I am using also. I LOVE your soft white cabinets (love their style, color and hardware), your granite, your beautiful backsplash over your range, your sink set up, your faucet, your 20X 20 beautiful tiles, the way you got the beam out of the way, your wheat-back chairs (I have the same one but mine I think are in a honey maple color now), all the light you have in the kitchen with that bay window and all the ceiling lights, your wall color, the drawer storage, the pantry pull out drawers and your doggie! Thanks again for sharing. You did an amazing renovation that is beautiful as well as more functional.

I don't remember a lot of details. Sorry. I think it was a smaller kitchen. I don't remember if the cabinets had been painted white or replaced. There was a bar or peninsula between the kitchen and table area. No paneling on the walls. I think it was probably an older post. I have oak cabinets and have been researching what others have done with theirs. Most of the information I have found was 2 or more years old.

This just happened to me, too. On Chrome, for some reason, I had to sign in (usually I am always signed in) and when I did, my bookmarks for GW didn't work. So when signed in, clicked on Your Houzz and under my name/account I went to activity. It showed where I'd commented on GW threads, so I clicked on a thread from there. Then, when I was in GW (but in a specific thread, not just the forum page), I went to the browser bar, deleted the actual name of the thread, but kept the www.gardenweb.com. (Like I deleted everything after .com here: https://www.gardenweb.com/discussions/5058837/help-getting-on-gardenweb-home-decorating-forum-not-conversations#21448682.) That took me to the GW home page and I bookmarked that. Once I was back on GW, my old bookmarks began working properly again.
