Thanks for responding. I just looked at the programs in the Uninstall window, and the only one I don't recognize is UPSMON Plus for Windows. Maybe it has something to do with my UPS account . . . in any case, it was installed in 2010, so it probably has nothing to do with this. A little while ago I was able to get to the KT without incident. I'm hoping this lasts. Thanks again.

I've made this suggestion in the past, but I still think it's a valid one (although not to me at this point in my life). When we are on the main page of the cooking forum, there is a link for related forums. I think if "kitchens" was considered related and you could navigate back and forth with the two forums, that would make life easier for many people. Many people migrate from "kitchens" to "cooking" and still go back to give advice once their new kitchen is done. Also, I think it would be helpful if a thread indicated if anybody posted to it since you last visited. I know the new email notification helps that now, but there may be a thread that I am following but haven't added my two cents yet; however I would still like to know others' contributions. On the Pinterest/FB issue, I am totally addicted to Pinterest. I use it for many things, including recipes. However, I use a completely different identity because I don't want to connect it to FB. None of my friends or family need to know I just copy others' ideas and I'm really not that creative ;) I have posted so much personal information on here at a very difficult time in my life. I knew it would always be out there for the world, but it wasn't something my friends/family could easily stumble upon, so I was a little more free with my thoughts. I think of the conversation side of this as a place to b*tch out my sister when I'm mad at her or just cry with my cyber friends. I don't want that to link up to FB. Those are some of the people I'm b*tching about or am mad at. ;)

Another vote for having a list of one's own postings; your profile page would be a good place, and is currently underused anyway. It would also be helpful to have the USENET protocol of the choice between collapsing and expanding threads, wherein you can see the names of all posters to a particular thread and the dates of each of their posts (but you'd have to click on the name to read what they posted). This is another way of "following" posters whose comments you are particularly interested in. Yes to a better search feature; Google currently works better than GW's. Yes to previews appearing at the end of the thread. No's to liking, quoting and signature files.

I absolutely love the "feel" of this space! This is very similar to what I'm trying to achieve (we're just starting the planning process). The wall colors and fabric choices are similar to what I was thinking about. We're going to do a slate floor, but DH insists on using locally quarried slate which is black. We both decided we want stained maple cabinets, so I want to try to work in the warm colors based on the color of the wood. I wish the slate DH wanted would have a brown tone to it. oh well. I really like the light fixture of ther kitchen table, can you tell me where you got it? The church pew bench is genius and I really love the throw pillows. I want to do a banquette seat against some windows, but I wonder if a free stand "pew" bench would be a better idea. hhhmmm...time to do some more thinking :)
