labor costs for custom curtains or drapes
Comments (50)I'm about to make 117" interlined double pleat drapes with a finish Width of 56" and Length of 108". These will be hand sewn with the exception of the pleat sides. I don't want to overcharge, but I also don't want to undercharge for detailed custom work that will take a long time. There will be 2 separate panels...See Moreipe vs composite for covered front porch
Comments (13)Timber Teck makes a T&G decking product. TT rial system is nice looking fairley easy to install but very spendy. What I found along with all the bashing...complaints on composite were about the material itself...complaints on South American lumber were mainley about a bad install/finish job. Its very possible to have a T&G ipe project I have several of them out including my own hot tub room floor. East Teak is a full service Mill that is they can machine/dry the lumber any way you want. There are a few little tricks involved with this install but nothing I could not explain if your Contractor is willing to learn and pay attention to detail, of course this is true with any high end decking. Comments (20)Our company has stopped using IPE and other tropical hardwoods. Although long lasting, if the moisture content is not correct, they warp horribly and have gotten expensive, not to mention the ecological damage harvesting this wood has on ecologically rich forests. We've been using Thermory for a couple of years now and have had great success. It doesn't warp, is quite lightweight, and meets fire code when used on roofs....See MoreMassarnduba vs. Ipe
Comments (5)Thanks for the reply John, I do appreciate it. Keeping it off the ground and covered shouldn't be a problem. How long do you think I should have it on site before I do the install? Is a week sufficient, or is it a, the longer the better type of thing. One other thing, from what I can tell the consensus here is to face fasten with SS. My deck will be about 4 feet off the ground at it's lowest point up against the house, and between 5 and 7 feet at it's highest points on the corners. I know clips are a gamble, but do think using the Tiger Claws in this situation would be a bad bet to make. My house faces east so I get morning and afternoon sun up until about 2pm, if that matters. Thanks again for your time....See Moredilly_ny
