QVC friends and family

I've mentioned before my sister works for QVC. They had another friends and family day at their employee store. Man you can really get some deals there!
I got a king bedding set (comforter, shams and skirt), gray boots, sleeveless dress shirt, and 2 bras for $68....on air price would have exceeded $280.
I'm not sure if I wish they had more shopping days or less!

I appreciate everyone’s thoughts on the matter... we live in the “Recreation” house..... pool, b-ball court, trampoline, tether ball, we were especially excited when we moved in for our preteen daughter.... to have friends over with lots to do! My brother with his younger daughter are constantly over. they live with his wife and other family members ( mother -law, 2 college age kids, 3 dogs( full house!) but because it is so much fun to hang at our house And because he stores many of his toys” quads” at our house he may call “ we are on way to pick this or that up”... but then it’s not just a swing they but a hang out. My niece loves us and is hungry for attention... but sometimes my little family ( husband and teen) need our own down time, grounding out time. my niece is hungry for attention so I feel rude to not drop what I’m doing but I also feel it impinges on my husband and daughter’s time. I feel like my brother thinks we are home so why not come over... but I want time with just us at home!!!!! The other day we had been out to daughter’s soccer game and she had made plans to go over to a friend’s house for a couple of hours..... my brother communicated (texted) that he was swinging they to pick something up... and brought my niece with him- when my daughter was on her way to leave my niece fell apart that her cousin was leaving!!! I confronted my brother that we had made plans and we’ll, my daughter went to her friends and my brother and niece hung out for 4 hours!! Might I mention they came over for pizza the night before!!!!! Now the last day of the weekend I know he is “swinging by” again and I really would like to not “ entertain” or give out attention beyond my husband, daughter and dog today. Help!!!

We have the exact same problem. We started looking at land 2-3 years ago, switched lots 2 times, then finally bought our lot just over a year and a half ago. We have been working on plans for over a year. It seems everyday someone asks how its going. Especially my parents! They constantly say- just build something already! There have already been so many problems and delays. My husband keeps complaining as well, blaming a lot of the time on me (since he's fine with any floorpan, any exterior etc.). I'm so sorry for your loss. The hole where someone loved was is too hard to bear sometimes. My sister has made 4 attempts since she was 16 and still lives. She's 65 yrs old now. Each time we came home early from a trip or a friend stopped by on time for serious medical intervention. She's always had constant loving care and lives with my other sister so as said above when someone spirals in that direction there is not stopping them. We have been lucky but who knows if that will continue. :(

The problem comes when the other party stops making payments and you have to sue them. The lawsuit will cost something and there is guaranteed to be a big hot mess with everyone upset when you do sue. Having it in writing is a great idea, however simply because it is in writing does not mean things won't go wrong. And it won't mean you don't lose friends if something happens. In this case there was land to secure the loan. However, if it is an unsecured loan and the other party has no money, you may not get your money back. They can declare bankruptcy. Or you can go to court and sue and get a judgment, and if they have nothing, you get nothing.

Wow! In my opinion they are WAY overpriced nowadays. Another problem is they charge outrageous shipping on EACH INDIVIDUAL item. I used to shop there...back in the Kathy Levine days...but their Quality and Value have gone down too far to be Convenient. I'm thrilled for you, though...good job!!!

The beauty forum is so full of mean women it's UNREAL. If you disagree with their views (usually liberal and pro everything sinful) they come after you claws first.

Right, Deeby! And how about the way they bash some of the hosts and pass judgment on their dress, speech, mannerisms. Some people just watch too much! I feel sorry for the hosts. They must have to have thick skin to shrug the mean-ness off, or maybe they just don't read the critical posts. It's a crazy forum. Who knew people collect those $300 Dooney bags? It's a whole different world from here.

Score! I don't shop qvc as much as I used to, for the same as redcurls, the shipping is way too high. I probably would shop a lot more often. The one really, really good policy they have is 30 day, unconditional, money back guarantee. You can't beat that with a stick!!

I didn't even know they had forums. From what everyone is saying, I think I'll pass. Amazing how bold, foul, over-the-top, mean people can be when anonymous.

Some of the QVC forums have nice people. I like "For the Home," "Electronics," and "Entertainment."

As for their products, I buy some holiday decorations there. Most of their wreaths, for instance, are the same price or slightly better than I can find in the marketplace for a similar quality even adding the shipping and handling. I try to check local stores and several online sources before I buy anything from anybody. I would love to have access to QVC's outlet store!

I have a couple of Valerie's wreaths, and they really are nice. I hang them inside, so they last a long time, no weathering. I got some of her Christmas birds last year too.

Certain things I would never buy there--electronics, beds, overpriced cosmetics, vacuum cleaner. I have a few clothing items but am losing interest.

As for the forums, I enjoy the home forum, viewpoints and among friends. They have so many members there that sometimes there are too many replies to read. Not like here where we have a nice number of members so mostly threads don't get overloaded with replies.
