QVC friends and family

I've mentioned before my sister works for QVC. They had another friends and family day at their employee store. Man you can really get some deals there!
I got a king bedding set (comforter, shams and skirt), gray boots, sleeveless dress shirt, and 2 bras for $68....on air price would have exceeded $280.
I'm not sure if I wish they had more shopping days or less!

Family and friends photos in bedroom?
Q

Bad Feng Shui: "A common Feng Shui bedroom mistake is displaying photos of family, friends and children in the bedroom. In Feng Shui, this is considered a big No No. The bedroom is for two things and they both start with the letter "S." Consider your bedroom to be your personal oasis and romantic hideaway that should encourage intimacy, romance and communication. A place that is nourishing where you can rest, revitalize and reflect. Photos, pictures or images of single people in the bedroom can indicate loneliness. It's possible to feel lonely and insecure even if you're married. To correct this, hang a picture of a couple or display pairs of objects. Some believe that pictures of children or relatives may appear to be staring at you and cause additional anxiety, worry or lack of focus. Others believe that it will cause your mind to be thinking of others when it should be focused on you, your companion and your beauty rest." Link

Joseph Corlett, LLC I don't mind solicitations for reviews. I got one yesterday from our flooring retailer and will provide it once I get the molding and after the flooring is installed later this month. I've gotten solicitations for product reviews in the last few weeks from online vendors. It seems to be an automatic thing if you make a purchase. The only reason I didn't provide the product review is because too much personal info was required to set up an account to submit the review. It's a verified purchase so asking for all that detail at the end of the process after I've written the review was a turnoff.

How do friends/family react to your plant collection?
Q
Comments (8)
All my plants are outdoor so they're spread over a big area. There's many "house plants" but also a lot of plants that could never be house plants, especially after a number of years of growth. Most people coming to my place usually only look superficially at the gardens and don't see the full range of plants. But from those who do look more in depth I get comments that it looks like a botanic garden, except for not having formal pathways all around. 'Well, I can't afford to keep buying plants as well as put in formal pathways' is what I tell them.

Can we talk about get togethers for a minute (friends and family)?

My husband and I are friends with a couple. Before we had kids, we would take turns, their house, then ours. When we had kids, they came to our house because it was babyproofed, I could put the baby down for a nap when needed, etc. When they had kids, ours were older so we would go to their house for the same reason, easier to take care of baby at home. Now that all of our kids are older, we switch every other time. Well, except during the summer and then they generally want to come to our house, but that's because we have a pool. When my brother was single and living in another state, it bothered him that he always had to be the one to travel here for holidays. I'm sorry but that's just practical. Why should me, hubby, our 2 kids and my parents all pack up and drive 6 hours to his house that wasn't even large enough to accommodate all of us when he could drive here?

Wow! In my opinion they are WAY overpriced nowadays. Another problem is they charge outrageous shipping on EACH INDIVIDUAL item. I used to shop there...back in the Kathy Levine days...but their Quality and Value have gone down too far to be Convenient. I'm thrilled for you, though...good job!!!

Lucky you, Salgal.

Anyone ever visit the forums there? Not so nice as here.

The beauty forum is so full of mean women it's UNREAL. If you disagree with their views (usually liberal and pro everything sinful) they come after you claws first.

Right, Deeby! And how about the way they bash some of the hosts and pass judgment on their dress, speech, mannerisms. Some people just watch too much! I feel sorry for the hosts. They must have to have thick skin to shrug the mean-ness off, or maybe they just don't read the critical posts. It's a crazy forum. Who knew people collect those $300 Dooney bags? It's a whole different world from here.

Score! I don't shop qvc as much as I used to, for the same as redcurls, the shipping is way too high. I probably would shop a lot more often. The one really, really good policy they have is 30 day, unconditional, money back guarantee. You can't beat that with a stick!!

I didn't even know they had forums. From what everyone is saying, I think I'll pass. Amazing how bold, foul, over-the-top, mean people can be when anonymous.

Some of the QVC forums have nice people. I like "For the Home," "Electronics," and "Entertainment."

As for their products, I buy some holiday decorations there. Most of their wreaths, for instance, are the same price or slightly better than I can find in the marketplace for a similar quality even adding the shipping and handling. I try to check local stores and several online sources before I buy anything from anybody. I would love to have access to QVC's outlet store!

I have a couple of Valerie's wreaths, and they really are nice. I hang them inside, so they last a long time, no weathering. I got some of her Christmas birds last year too.

Certain things I would never buy there--electronics, beds, overpriced cosmetics, vacuum cleaner. I have a few clothing items but am losing interest.

As for the forums, I enjoy the home forum, viewpoints and among friends. They have so many members there that sometimes there are too many replies to read. Not like here where we have a nice number of members so mostly threads don't get overloaded with replies.
