yes I am working on moving the plants back in and getting it looking pretty for the summer, it takes a major clean up after winter, tons of leaves and branches fall into it from the big trees over head. Hubby got in there yesterday with his lawn vac and sucked up all the leaves and pine needles and we got some of the plants in. I have the front bed all done it looks good and the side bed by the drive way is well on it's way so now the atrium is next.

That is in my atrium so you can see part of if, the big windows you see are the windows from inside the atrium looking into my formal living room.

that is another one that is not all together yet and I am going to change the top piece I found a really pretty crazed silver globe that I am thinking of using instead.

I will do at least one that will hold water as a bird bath and one that will hold seed for the birds to eat from. I found this perfect big bowl that is shaped and colored like a big sunflower it would work for either.

Opps I thought I made the pic smaller than that.

I like that round crackled glass globe on the top of the first one. I like the blue glass too. It's eye-catching and so pretty.

Tell us what kind of "glue" you are using. Silicone caulking stuff which comes in a tube? I may have to stop in a thrift shop tomorrow.

You are moving the plants from in the house to the atrium, is that it?

Uh-oh . . . just what I didn't need . . . another fun distraction.

To glue the glass pieces you use GE 2 clear silicone for indoor and outdoor windows and doors 3 hour rain ready, sun freeze proof. I know that is a long one but they say it has to be that kind.
No nothing is painted it is colored glass. It takes a lot of stacking and trials to get the arrangements you like. We hit the thrift store and Goodwill, it was fun picking.
You have to have a large flat heavy platter for the base. I found several microwave platters which works great. I hit a jackpot of blue glass. I used plates, saucers, bowls, vases, etc that globe on top is a candle holder upside down.

Just beautiful. I've always wanted to make one, but with the high winds we get down here, I'd have broken glass all over the place.

The top photo, I can see it being used as a fountain; water running out of the top and down the sides.

I have some that I bought a while back that are made of porcelain pottery material that has been fired that I am going to make a fountain out of if my hubby will ever help me finish it. We have all the parts ready have drilled all the holes basically have to put it all together with the pump in the big basin. I am determined to get him to help me on that project very soon so it can go in the atrium. My neighbor said she would help me if he didn't.

Jasdip I know some of the people on garden junkers talk about drilling holes in theirs so it probably could be done, I would be terrified of shattering the glass. My husband was saying it would be really pretty with tiny lights inside too. Big Lots had for Christmas these tiny tiny lights on a strand with a battery pack they were about the size of a match head. I knew I should have picked some of those up on clearance! LOL
