Boxerpups, I need your help

Boxerpups,

I am doing my kitchen in vertical grain fir veneer slab doors with the grains matching. It will have clean modern look. I have only seen this type of kitchen in person a few times in my life, and they looked stunning. My house's trim and moulding is in VG fir. I can't find any examples anywhere in pictures. I need some pictures to pull ideas together.

Boxerpups, since you are the reigning champion of the kitchen picture queen, can you find some pictures for me?

Kind of like Sochi's walnut kitchen but in VG fir....

kaismom - I'm not good yet at pasting in pictures off the internet, but hopefully this link will work. I found a few others on google images, just search for fir kitchens. Boxerpups will do better.

I really, really love fir and these kitchens look beautiful. I can't wait to see yours.

It sounds wonderful. I am honored you would ask me.
I promise to keep my eyes open for any similar to Sochi's
but with Vertical Grain Fir.
Here is what I have so far but not nearly as nice as hers.

Whooaaaa that is not my kitchen. So sorry to disappoint. I wish it were, this is an inspiration. I don't have a lovely hood or an island. I have a u shape kitchen. I will post pics when I get a chance but my kitch is not done. Truly Thanks you Kitchen Friends, Yes the wood floor is also under the pennisula. We use the pennisula every day, for everything you can fathom. If I did not have low windows in the breakfast area I would change it into one giant island with seating on one side. But, my DH and kids do not like the idea of changing breakfast area into a giant kitchen. And one day I will sell this house and perhaps a nook is good. DH wants to shorten pennisula, I am not sure. Still thinking about it. I am willing to change the angle and widen and then shorten. The reason he wants to shorten is it has been hectic around the pennisula because we use it daily. When someone is trying to cook, another trying to eat, or HW or whatever life gets crazy around the kitchen. I am thinking about an island. It would need to be one we sit at. Possibilities..... Thanks so much for your ideas. Photos are great too.

Hi -

Boxerpups, I thought I was good at googling, but you are definitely the absolute queen of kitchen pics. Do you have any more information about the second picture down? I love the look and am curious to know the specifics of various elements (pulls, countertop stone, backsplash). Many thanks.

Okay, this kitchen is pecan but it made me think of Kaismom and Sochi's kitch's. I think you modernistas will enjoy this link!

This is walnut and not fir, but the way her cabinet guy handled matching the grains is just stunning.
