Maybe I worked too long in the Andrology Department.....but do you see what I see when I look at this chandelier? I'm just not sure I would want them swimming over the table while I'm eating.

I'm trying hard to think it's just an artistic take on tadpoles. As in French cuisine & frogs...

On the other hand, a book on Art Deco lights from my local library states that this type of "boudoir" lamps in a certain shape was fashionable in the 20's-30's.

Should look real groovy in the same room with that chandelier. LOL.

Here is a link that might be useful: Art Deco Boudoir Lamps

Glad to know I am not alone!!!

When I opened my Elle Decor magazine, that was the page that I opened to, and I just looked at it and thought "wow".

I did send the photo to my old friends in the Andrology lab where I used to work with a nice little note that I was thinking of them. And perhaps they would want to get it for the Chief for Boss's Day. lol

Love the sense of humor of this group! Curious to know what was on the mind of the designer. Well, I could guess...

Hey, we are metal casters and one of our clients went through the IVF treatments to get pregnant. All of her jewelry designs reflected her visualizations of getting pregnant. Seven years later, her jewelry designs survived that time period of her life, plus has a beautiful daughter to show for it.

Yet another confirmation that "the emporers new clothes" effect is real! I can just see rows of design experts nervously glancing at each other, then at the light, and finally someone exclaims "Brilliant!" And they all rush to agree. After all, it can't -really- be what it looks like...
