This is the thread that won't die. Such a good topic. I didn't see much that interested me at craft fairs still. Except someone was making fairy wings for dolls, I thought they were awful cute, but didn't buy. Then I wished I had for the little girls down the street for Christmas. Well I didn't do too well last year. So I kind of stopped making to sell and managed to put all my plate flowers in my own garden, almost. Then people started asking me for things, and I sold some on word of mouth, so maybe I'll start up again. Last fall may have just been slow. A friend of a friend asked to buy a couple of my coffee bag wallets so I sold them to her. She just emailed me to say that the local coop may be interested in carrying them. Woudn't that be fun. I've been concentrating on my house this spring/summer (repainting, overhauling garden, refurbishing porch furniture, getting ready to build new garage), but I'd like to try selling crafts again. I'm planning to start drilling glass so I can make more elaborate flowers and other things and not have to worry about them falling apart. Kathy

Just got back from the small show up in the hills. Did over $200 and had a great time! Still not much Christmas sold - maybe four snowmen... I sold about ten potato bags, two aprons, 12 weiner washers( you can see them in my webshot album under the pics to post) and I sold 7 (all I made... Redneck midriff tank tops... Never thought they would sell there, but they were a hit!!! I can't wait, we have a big craft show here this weekend to.I've been going for a couple of years. I always get so excited to go in and see some of the new things people are doing. I have already went to 3 this year. I've seen a couple of new things done, and ended buying them. my fav is my snowman, which was clever he's made out of wood and about 30inches tall and on a stake in a galvanized pail then she set him in concrete to keep him standing, and used pine cones and greenery to hide the concrete put a string of lights in too, and of course he's all dressed up too. He's very cute. I have put him outside by my front door to greeting every one. the best part he was only $35 dollars!!! I dont mind paying that, because I dont think I will be seeing him at walmart or any other store. Hand made is always better!!! shelly

Good job! That money comes in handy this time of year. We just finished a 2 day show in Rutland, VT but the show was Fri and Sat. Fri was very slow and Saturday was not as busy as in past years. It was put on by the local farmer's market group so we did get a very nice decorated wreath for the front of the house from one of the local Christmas tree growers. We'll go cut our own tree next weekend. One more show to go and that's in New York State next weekend, and that's it for six whole weeks! It's gonna snow today and tonight. We're looking at 8 to 10 inches so that'll put people in a good Christmas mood. (Except the kids as school won't close for that amount of snow.) The decorations are up in the area and my favorites are the people with the cutter sleighs that put them in the front yard and just put greens and a bow in them. That's all you need. Stay warm.
