That was my exact impression, an office cubicle and file room. I worked in a file room that looked eerily similar in college in the early 90's.

It might be cool, because it certainly isn't warm.

Yup, minus the appliances, it reminds me of the nursing station at the hospital where I used to work.

I think it's pretty cool--as in pretty cool. Projects that blow off the crowd and reflect genuine personal preferences are always cool by my definition, even when my own are very different.

They must like standing in a corner. In addition to the cooktop crammed into the corner, how about that bathroom sink with the corner vanity right in front of it? I guess when you're sitting at the Hollywood lights you can just lean right over and spit into the sink when you need to.

I like the configuration of uppers on and behind the counters with the clear space above. (Although what do you reach over the stove for like that?)--could be good for a short person in a contemporary setting, and I like the double sink bathroom, sorta, but the allover grey is kinda sterile.

I really like that kitchen thing. I currently have a chunk of kitchen open to my living room and would love that!

Obviously I would use different materials, and a better layout...do those things SLIDE? O man my cabinet guy is gonna have a heart attack when he sees this...

Maybe this is crazy, but I could see those on-the-counter low cabinets, with ribbed or otherwise obscured sliding glass doors (maybe on both sides?) and interior lighting. Of course, I'd want them and bottom cabs to be some lovely wood.

The blue valance and oak glider with matching ottoman have inspired me.

Screams 1980's with the gray cabinets and those white pulls. My first thought also was cubicle, but if those are cabinets as the BS, not such a bad idea or use of space...they just couldnt be too deep because reaching over the counter could be a challenge, especially for shorties like me....

I'm with rosie. We live in an oddball place ourselves that is completely done for ourselves - well, to be honest, for our cats, lol.
