Thank you everyone for your care, concern, and for checking in. Luna seems to be feeing a little bit better today (at this moment). She's going in and out of having more/less energy. I'm still getting smiles, tailwags, and a little interest in playing with her favorite ball/duck at certain times but she doesn't have her usual vim and vigor. I asked her if she wanted a treat, and she stood right up and looked around for it, so that's good. (That wasn't the case two days ago.) Her coat hasn't changed and her gums look okay, so it doesn't seem like she's bleeding internally. She's beginning to act like she first did before when she was diagnosed with cancer, although nothing seems dire at this point. Of course we'll take her to a vet, when her condition requires it. Right now, I really believe they won't tell me anything I don't already know. The vet only gave her three months to live last May, so I feel like she's beaten the odds to be here almost a year later. At this moment, anything I can do to make her happy is hers. I'm glad she's here with us too. I wouldn't have it any other way!

I didn't just come across this article I actually googled "i'm sick of people telling me their dog is a rescue" and this article was the first to pop up! That being said, "i'm sick of people telling me their dog is a rescue"! Here's why... probably 75% of the time when I ask an owner "what kind of dog is that"? they answer "its a rescue". It drives me crazy because they know I have asked them what breed they have but they insist in on first letting me know that they are a wonderful person because they have rescued a dog. Wait.... the question wasn't did you get your dog from a breeder or did you get your dog elsewhere (naturally if it didn't come from the breeder you have rescued a dog from somewhere, hence making most dogs rescues). But the actual term "rescue dog" is very misleading so I always ask them to clarify with the following question.... "Wow, a rescue dog, that is incredible, you must be so proud of him/her... I just read about this rescue dog that pulled a little baby out of a burning building.... what exactly did your dog do?

I'm so sorry your job has become such a nightmare. It's hard when something that is going to be a great improvement in your home becomes such a trial to get through. I'm with you in spirit - we started what was allegedly a four-month job on December 2, 2013. We knew at the time that six months was more realistic, but we would have the space back by July 4th, no problem. It's one year later and we're still not done (should be about two weeks out). We're close enough now that friends come by to look at the kitchen and say "oh, you're going to love cooking here" and, like OOTM Mom, I feel no pleasure or joy or anticipation, just "whatever, yeah." Every day is a day closer to finished. Hang on.

The answer is that doing this correctly requires pretty good timing, so I could take limited clients. And the amount of work involved per lawn means it would be incredibly expensive until the lawns reach maintenance, but that takes years.
