1. My DD and I are both going to make the 1600" jellyroll quilt this week. (Got mine made, just the top) 2. Work on UFO's (nope, haven't touched them) 3. Start a new knitting project. Set sleeves in the current one. (sweater still sleevless. I did knit two scarves) 4. Lose 5 pounds, hopefully with the help of an Android app called MyFitnessPal calorie counter and increase exercise. (almost made it, lost 3 pounds but have been eating a lot better and exercising) I will have to put off any more sewing goals because I broke my bobbin case on Friday. I was working on a quilts for kids top and my bobbin was hopping, so I removed the bobbin case and cleaned around the area good. Did not get the bobbin case seated correctly and when I went back sewing, it jumped out of line and I sewed several holes through it. Then a tip broke off where the needle went through. Went to the dealer and he cannot get one in for 3 weeks. I asked him if it was on a slow boat from China? Oh well, I was hoping to get a lot of sewing done in the next two weeks because I may finally be going back to work. Rebecca

Great photo, Sharon. Kate is right; you do look like the topper for a wedding cake. How sweet. I did pretty well this month. For March: 1. Bind sailboat quilt when it comes back from LAQ. (DONE AND DELIVERED) 2. Do March blocks (DONE AND SENT) 3. I decided to start the stack and whack baby quilt for an old friend and work colleague whose daughter is expecting her first child. Started cutting last night. Would like to finish it this month. (FINISHED TOP; WAITING FOR LAQ.) 4. Finish a sweater for my daughter that I must have started four years ago. All I have to do is pick up 139 stitches around the neck and do the trim, but I'm afraid I may run out of yarn. What a bummer that will be. (NOT DONE; TRY APRIL) 5. Make placemats for which I've had the fabric three years.(APRIL) 6. Make a outboard motor cover for my sailboat motor.(APRIL) 7. Deliver completed City Lights quilt to my step-daughter. (DELIVERED) Only four out of seven completed, but I did mail my April blocks to Kate and I'm half done with the View from the Cabin quilt top that I started. All in all, it was a pretty productive month. I did get my gardens cleaned, and I finished my taxes. (Pat, pat. Sound of me patting myself on the back.)

Ok, ladies. My goals are met, in fact the Brown's Choc Stars is quilted and given already. My niece took a picture but I haven't seen it yet. You probably won't see me until Tuesday as we're leaving Monday morning at 3 and hoping storm Beryl won't cause us any problems as we travel through that part of Florida and Atlanta area. I have potato salad to make today along with making some fresh green beans (neighbors garden) with bacon for later on today. Everyone (14 of them) except me, Salijo and great-granddaughter Addison is out on the pontoons this morning...we're having a girls morning, plus I need to finish packing...not that I've done much about it yet. @:) Have a fun day everyone......SharonG/FL

DH is recovering from surgery, so time to sew this month is somewhat limited as I am happily taking care of him. For the Seeds-N-Stitches July swap we made "crazy" 12.5" quilt blocks to swap and that was a new learning experience for me. So I have been making "crazy" blocks for fun. My great-grandmother on my dad's side of the family made beautiful "crazy" quilts with multi-colored thread using the herringbone stitch, she must have been very good at tessellations! So it has been kind of neat to have a connection to a great-grandmother who lived before I was born. My aunt, a few months back, sent me some photos of the quilt-tops my great-grandmother made, so I have started collecting quilt photos from different members of my family and putting them in a photo album with descriptions beside each quilt, thought that would be something good to pass on to future generations. And my son this month has a taken a small interest in my quilting so I got him a pair of fiskars student scissors and as time allows have been trying to teach him how to cut fabric. Figured he needs to learn how to do that before anything else. Am happy though that he has a taken an interest in sewing/quilting as he has a creative side to him like I do, though I am in competition with his interest in Legos, computer games, and Transformers at the moment. Last summer we had severe drought here in Louisiana, but thankfully so far this summer we have had rain off and on. I am ready for some cooler fall weather, and try to only venture out to put feed in the birdfeeder in this triple-digit heat. Well off to pull some fabric out of the dryer. Best to you, Sandra
