help...looking for book title

I read a book years ago about a woman who was married and her husband made her do porn movies and pretty much held her hostage. She finally broke away from her husband at the end.

Does anyone recognize this....it is a true story.

I don't have any ideas for you as for what this title would be, but if no one at KT identifies the book you're looking for, a good place to ask is the staff at your local public library. They have access to databases and other resources to locate books where just a few details are known.

Yes, sometimes we have to ignore a title. I almost passed on The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society because of its title, but I'm glad I didn't. I loved it. Thanks for the recommendation. I didn't know about that pilgrimage either.

Sons of the Wolf by Barbara Michaels. I really liked her books back in the olden days. She was actually Barbara Mertz and also wrote as Elizabeth Peters. I liked all those gothic-type books. Mary Stewart was my favorite, although she mostly wrote current-day stories. I blame her for my love of travel. Her characters were always having adventures in different countries. BTW, I'm just back from our Switzerland-Austria Odyssey Tour. It was great--possibly the most tiring trip I've made what with climbing to the tops of stuff. No Heidi sightings, but I did get a souvenir Christmas ornament of her.

I and others get confused with the use of "From" as in 'Four from four" or whatever number quoted, meaning this task has been successful. I would say "Four out of four." I used this particular example when recalling a cave rescue. The person who was at the start of the rescue, when given a report at the finish, thought for a moment that all four children had died. He must have felt shattered until the misunderstanding was explained.

Was that Linda Lovelace? She made Deep Throat but later turned to religion and said she had been forced to do the porn. I may be wrong. Just sort of reminded me of something I'd heard long ago. I didn't see the movie....this was back in the '70's, I think.

Sounds like Linda Lovelace. Whatta guy she married.....

"Ordeal" and "Out of Bondage" are her 2 books mentioned in the biography.

Definitely about Linda Lovelace. She said her husband Chuck-something beat her and made her do porn movies. You could see her bruises in the films. Wonder if she is still alive. Marilyn Chambers The Ivory Snow Girl died a few years ago.Her male counterpart Johnny Wadd Holmes died of aids/hiv..
