Real linoleum or ceramic/porcelain tile
Comments (11)OMG! The reading of this thread was funny and full of good advice. I too have wondered the same thing about grout versus using a linoleum without any seam issues. MONGOCT, you said it! THANKS!!!! Well said!!! My handicapped sister will wait too long after her adult diaper is already wet, thus making a rather large flow hit the floor. She lives with mother and her young adult son. My older brother is replacing all the floors and has mentioned ceramic tile on her bedroom floor. That's why the search that landed me here. For a puddle, large puddle that might have been there for several hours (get my drift), easier clean up and less porous; linoleum might be better than grout, right? Please offer suggestions, thanks so much!!!...See MoreWhite Porcelain Basket Weave Tile
Comments (8)MizLizzie, Thanks for the photo and info! I may go with the one you found. The photo I sent, now that I have spent more time studying it , is a more lattice look than a true basket weave. It is flatter, so it may be less of a dust catcher. I think the lattice is also a little more feminine looking. I really like them both! I would still enjoy hearing from anyone out there who can ID the lattice tile in the picture....See MorePorcelain hexagon tile that has a marble look?
Comments (5)I am using a porcelain marble-look tile from Italy called I Marmi. I have the larger format 12x24 and basket weave, but they make a hexagon pattern in Calacatta, Carrara, and Statuary. I bought it locally, but here's a link so you can see the product: I Marmi Hex tile - it was quite reasonable and I am really pleased with the look......See MorePlease help me choose a bathroom floor tile: marble? mosaic? Comments (53)Dottie - I could not have done this without an educated designer - it's not just about the design choices although I would never have come up with design choices as my brain isn't hardwired in those kinds of visually imaginative ways. I can appreciate things but I don't know how to pull them together and I wouldn't have the ability to figure out where to even start in terms of the sea of vendors. I am good about researching appliances and functions but get lost in the sea of visual possibilities :-) And I can't even imagine dealing with codes and such since Los Angeles is code crazy - I wanted to move some floor electrical outlets up a bit from the floor as I found it difficult to reach them when I had some hip issues so I was thinking about for the future - I was told that if I move a plug, the whole thing has to be rewired back to the panel box. And the darn kitchen sink has to be approved by the UL LOL - who would think a kitchen sink could be dangerous....See Morecliff_and_joann
