I wish Icould see a whole room picture so I can figure out about the missing wall. As it is, the sofa's are too far apart and honestly akward. I'd much rather see them pulled in and away from that window, perhaps in an L shape with a chair to complete the setting, but I can't see what amount of rom you have to work with...

people have suggested floating the furniture but it seems to just really shrink the room size down and there seems like wasted space behind.

See the thing is...you should be able to talk to the people in the seating group without shouting :) And as it is, you have to do a bit of raising of your voice to have a chat...which in my family just turns into a screaming match...wait that's not the queston :oP

Anyway back to the room...floating in this room is what you need to do, or move the TV...

Would it fit on the wall where the small sofa is now? Then the small sofa where the tv is, and the larger one where it is, and then a floating chair to finish the "square"?

Then a separate seating area in the back with perhaps two smaller chairs and a round table??? Sort of a game table area?

And a coffee table in the center of the sofa spot...with a larger table in the corner where the two sofa's form an L?

How would that work??

I kind of like NOT seeing the TV from the hall entry anyhoo, so this would give a visitor a pretty view of your sofa's (which are lovely) and not a TV stand (ok it's fancier than that but you get my drift) :)

If I get your room right, can you put the loveseat across from the tv (l-shaped with the sofa)? Then you can put the chair in the corner or so next to the tv.
I can't tell if the loveseat there would block a walkway.

I understand that you have this big room and you want to use it, but it doesn't matter how much space is between the couches, what makes it feel roomy is the space you see from wall to wall. My brother has his couches all against walls and I can't make him understand that he needs to bring them in and make it cozy. Your e.center is beautiful. I would however recommend that you paint before you have everything in it's place like drapes. You won't want to paint afterwards. too much work.

igloochic - the e. stand would fit on the wall where the loveseat currently is but it would JUST fit. no white side of walls sticking out anywhere. We did consider this but thought it would look goofy. If i arranged it this way, where the couch is infront of the window i don't know that there would be enough room to put chairs in the back.. hmmm my wheels are turning. I'll also say that it will JUST fit on the wall to the right when you walk in from the foyer. But the light switches are there.... and again there would be NO WALL on either side.

mlraff - i think i'd rather see the loveseat floating vs. the couch if i were going to keep the stand on that wall.

I still think it's going to look goofy floating the furniture with that space behind. I'm going go home tonight and rearrange. I can hear DH now..."what are you doing? It's looks good just the way it is." ha

If you float the couch across from the tv, how much space do you have between the back of the couch and the wall?
Room for a sofa table ? table and walkway? A small desk and chair?

mlraff- if i floated the couch across from the tv (i'm assuming you mean where it's located now) there's probably 6 ft. or so, depending on how far back you situate it, to the wall. I'm sure i could add a sofa table. I guess i also think floating something across looks funny because you walk in the entrance and there's something like right there in the way. Can you tell most houses around where i live have the furniture against the walls. :)

I wanted to move stuff around last night but my bother in law wasn't around (husband is in a sling from his surgery)so i ended up working on a painting project. :)
I'm a little nervous about moving the stand around just because DH originally wanted to having it diagonal in the corner where the loveseat is. He hasn't said much about it lately but last night when i said about rearranging he brought up again. *sigh*
I'll def. take some pics for some feedback.
