Tired all the time this week

I don't understand why I am tired and have no energy this week. Nothings changed including my fairly healthy eating habits. I walk/run for 45-minutes each morning (6 days/week) and it's tough to get through it this week. I take a multi-vitamin plus other supplements daily, and I get 7-8 hours of sleep each night - uninterrupted, going to bed by 11-11:30pm.

I have no energy, feel like I need a nap all day long, and feel so lethargic (spell?).

Yep, I'm 50, so I'm peri menopausal, but this hit me like a ton of bricks on Monday and still going strong.

What's up, anyone else get this way???

Could it be the pollen? If it continues, I would have it checked out.....could even be thyroid which is known to change during menopause.

The same is happening with the pinyon and beetles. In some places, the kill rate is 50 percent of the forest. The problem is so big that various govm't agencies aren't doing anything. There's just too many dead/dying trees to cut down -- and where can someone burn tens of thousands of trees? They are appealing to landowners to go across their property and cut-down/burn the beetle trees. But nothing is being done (as if anything could be done!) on BLM and USFS lands. I drove southwest of Cortez, Colo., last month. Wow! Stands of brown-needled (dead) pinyon were everywhere. When this all comes to an end, I think people might look back and say the drought/fires were certainly the most visible disaster, but that the beetle infestations and tree kills were the most devastating. Hope I'm wrong about that!

Hello Everyone, I have just signed up on here today, and have some experiences with menopause myself. Yes I can definitely feel for everyone that is tired all the time during menopause, but that is what I am feeling as well even though I go to bed between 6-8 every night and get up really early to between 4-6 every morning and when I wake up I feel that I have not slept at all and need a nap a couple of hours after I woke up. I am going to be 43 years old at the end of March, but I was forced into having menopause because two years ago I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer, but I am a survivor because it has been in remission for almost 2 years now( happy with that lol). I had the cancer for only 7 months, received 7 treatments of chemo, no radiations and absolutely no side effects from the chemo as I was actively walking everyday during chemo treatments. Had a total hysterectomy in July two years ago. Just a few months ago begin hormone therapy for symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats. but my night sweats was not that bad, but needed to have a fan on during the night like it was summertime. A surprising symptom that I experienced just a few days ago during my menopause, I had menstrual like cramps, but I don't have my ovaries both are gone, no fallopian tubes, and no uterus. It felt like I was going to have my period, but it is not possible with me at all. This kinda scared me, only lasted a day with the cramps, will see my doctor next week on my routine checkup every 3 months.

What I did was print out two blank calendar pages. (The job was estimated to take 6-8 weeks). I asked my GC for a general schedule. I then posted the calendar with those tasks written on the appropriate dates. The calendar pages were hung on the refridgerator door out in the garage. I had hired my own plumber, electrician, painter, flooring company and backsplash tile person. I met with my GC each morning (for maybe 5 minutes) and we would go over the schedule. At the end of each day I confirmed with him what the plan was for the next few days. We had ONE calendar that both of us used so that we were (almost) always on the same page. This worked out very well. Each of us always knew what was expected. The majority of stuff was done on schedule. The remodel took 7 weeks, and we had everything ripped to the studs, moved plumbing, TONS of electrical, cut in 2 new doors, covered 2 old doors, covered up the old window, cut in a new popped out window, tore out a soffit & raised the ceiling, raised a floor, and all of the other stuff involved in a major kitchen remodel. We've been "99% done" for about 2-3 weeks now. We're in the stage now just getting all of the little odds & ends done, and a few things fixed. Of course at this point, there's not such a rigid schedule because we're fully functional in our kitchen and my GC (as well as us) have taken some vacation time. But we should be done done in about 2 weeks. Anyhow, maybe you could insist on a calendar with your contractor - or his replacement. Then you will always be aware of what is going on and when... more than just "What are you going to do today?". Plus, he'll know what/when he's committed, in writing - might be a good way to cut through his excuses. Good luck!

Bonjour to you all this morning, Thank you for all your posts. Very interesting. This happened to me Friday night. It's late and i'm just about to go to bed when the phone rings. I answer and this is what i hear: I am so sorry i did not call you for your anniversary last night. You night i always call you. but i was so busy all day -going to school, rush here, rush there, go to work at night. Believe me, i am really, really sorry.! And i said ; who is talking please. And my youngest SD said it's me.(she said her name)! I couldn't believe it. I didn't even recognized her voice she was so much in a panic state like. I truly, truly felt she was honest and that she hadn't had the time to call me the night before. Oh well, better late than never. I knew there must have been a good reason for my youngest sd not to call me. After i hung up, i lit a little candle and i thank the lord and i said i was sorry for jumping up to conclusions so fast. The oldest SD was right there when the youngest called. I could hear her and her children in the back. She never wished me a happy birthday! I really think it's her lost. As far as them coming over ever tuesday nights, i really don't care anymore what hubby does. I've made plans to go to the library and to aqua fitness class on tuesday nights. I did that last week, and i truly, truly enjoyed it. I'm leaving everything to DH for the supper, etc. When i did mention potluck, he thought that was funny but i know he will never mention it to them because first of all its the ex-wife who is paying the food for the youngest SD and also for the oldest SD who is living there with her two children. I'm reading The Secret. It helps. Aisha, i love to read your comments. Have a nice day you all.

I've been the same way for the past two weeks. It's so bad that I cringe when I have to brake which means lifting my foot from the gas pedal to apply it. I was thinking that it was due to lack of exercise and healthy eating. I mentioned to my mom this past weekend that I'm about to go to the doctor to see what's up.

It feels like something has sucked all the blood and energy from my body. It may be chronic fatigue, which can be caused by a number of things, and not necessarily from physical exertion.

I've been like that all week, too. Feels like somebody pulled the plug. I went out this morning to dig up some clumps of an invasive plant that had gotten into my flower bed, and I think I lasted for four easy clumps. I barely had the energy to drag myself back to the house. I'm writing this from work, where the temp is in the mid-80s and there's no air-conditioning. (They don't like to turn it on in April.) I'm sweating. Typing this is wiping me out. I may eventually summon the energy to wipe my brow. :-)

I have fibromyalgia, and so this is nothing new. But that doesn't mean I'm used to it. I hate it! I have much to do, and a lot of it is stuff that I like to do. But the thought of doing anything at all is overwhelming.

I used to wonder what caused these bad days. Now I find myself wondering what causes the good ones.

Hope you feel better soon! You, too, Zeetera.

Could be Peri-menopause or allegies. My only symptom during allergy season is extreme fatigue. I don't sneeze, have a stuffy nose or itchy/watery eyes.

Maybe it's a virus that your body is trying to fight off.

Hope you feel better soon!

It's called "Spring Fever". This time of the year it's hard to wake up for me.

I mentioned above the extreme heat in the library tonight. One of the students just called the Maintenance Department and left a strong message about the library being so hot itÂs unusable for any kind of study or work. I had to stifle a laugh when he said, "the librarian looks distraught and worn out." IÂm sure I do!

When you are feeling low, check your blood glucose. It may have taken a dive. At readings of 90 to 110, you should feel ok, but can feel dragged out for anything less than 90. If you do not have access to a blood glucose meter, maybe a diabetic friend can take a reading for you.

Yep. Its a good idea to see a doctor about this.

Thanks everyone. I'll be monitoring this daily. If not better by mid-next week, I'll see the doc.

I took a 5-hour energy this morning to get me through my workout because I hate to miss those. They work great and instantly, but not something I want to get into the habit of drinking daily, but good in a pinch (FYI).

Another one here. I have been feeling tired for the last couple of weeks. When I got up this morning my back and legs were so stiff. I took some advil which helped some for the aches, but I am so sleepy and have so energy at all. Vique.

It think a lot of it is the time change--it takes me weeks to recover! I'm glad you'll see the doctor soon if you don't feel better very soon. Ask for blood tests including tests for anemia, low thyroid function and vitamin D levels.
carol_in_california

Have you been checked for anemia recently?

Check the vit d level. Also check your vit/supplements and maybe you need more, less or change. Also there is a flu going around. One of the nursing homes in ND had to restrict vistors for awhile. But just change of weather going from cold to hot will do it. Drink water, take breaks, change your habits and this too will pass. Mine is due to an increase of a blood pressure pill
