a little tip about copying receipts

My son asked me to find the receipt for a television we had bought at Best Buy several years ago. When I found it the print had faded so much you could barely read the price. I also had a photocopy of the receipt that I had made at the same time because we needed a copy for a manufacturer's rebate. The photocopy was pristine and easy to read.

So if you think you need to keep a receipt for several years make a photocopy because the original might not last. These receipts are also heat sensitive- if you put a warm iron on the receipt the paper will turn black. My son discovered that when he decided to iron a few creases out of his dress shirt and forgot he had put a receipt in the pocket.
