HELP! Ladylux3 faucet on backorder 3 wks .. need online source?

I placed my order for my ladylux 3 faucet last week and was told it was on backorder and would not get it until April sometime. Does anyone know a reputable place I can purchase online that will ship right away?? Our granite will be installed next week and our kitchen should be functionable by then ... except for the faucet!

Rufinorox - which finish do you want? Also, I remember from your other post that you ordered the Ladylux3 model 32298, which I wondered about because I thought you said you preferred NOT to have a faucet where you have to hold the button for the spray. The 32298 you have to hold the button. The Grohe Ladylux3 also comes in a model that you can let go of the button and it stays on spray, which is the #32226, and you may find that model more available.

In any case, whichever model you want, I would try Abt.com, because Abt is known for its customer service, and sells the Grohe faucets. Also try faucetdirect.com. Call them and see whether they have your faucet in stock. Make sure to specify the finish you want.

akchicago - thanks for remembering. I wanted the stainless steel finish. We saw a similair model in a local store and I loved the look of it, which is why I went with the lady lux 3, I was willing to give up the hold button for the spray. The 32298 model has the sleek look the 32226 has, but the pull down has a different look. I prefer the larger of the two.

I checked out faucedirect.com, but they are $150 more for the same model#. I was looking at two other sites faucets4cheap.com and homeperfect.com and they are priced the cheapest.

I'm not sure has anyone had experience with any of the two sites?

You can order a sample. The Floor tile is from Arizona tile: http://www.arizonatile.com/Assets/ProductImages/M/Misingi_Suber_464x464.jpg I think the combination of the taupe floor tile and the porcelain marble tile is the most stunning part of the bathroom. Though some might argue that we should have used mosaic in the bottom of the shower floor but I chose "form over function" for this. With the grab bars which I definitely use because I don't have good balance, I haven't fallen. There is a spray you can purchase on Amazon for tile or other possibly slippery surfaces that can be used if you want to be sure it is less slippery. My tile guy recommended it if i needed more traction. Maybe when I get a bit older, I will apply it for more safety. The size of the shower is one of the best parts of the remodel. 5ft X 5ft is the official size that allows one to say their shower fits the ADA standard. We didn't size ours for that reason but it turns out, it really is the perfect size for us. I love how when you are showering, all sides can be reached without moving too far yet there is still a nice feeling of spaciousness. Some of the pictures I posted in another thread may give you a better idea of the bathroom. Here Also, as I have mentioned in several other threads on GW, not having a shower door has turned out to be so wonderful and enhances the shower experience greatly. We had our contractor build the walls so we could add a shower door if we decided we wanted one but as it turns out, that is the VERY LAST THING we would ever want. Re the brushed nickel finish -- I hope that it holds up since I have that on all my handles and the faucet in the kitchen! But, I do have a *very* cheap BN faucet in my bath; $30 I think it was... it has been there 10 years (at least, I don't quite remember when I put it in) and it was perfect until my DD moved back in and started abusing it. I caught her banging her razor on it to clear it, and maybe that combined with some of her face products (like salicylic acid in the pimple cream) has started some spots where the finish has turned blackish.

Regarding big box vs plumbing supply stores...if the product number is exactly the same, the products are exactly the same, regardless of store or manufacturer. If the number differs by even one letter/number, then they are different. Something else to keep in mind...just b/c something is offered in a "plumbing supply store" does not mean that item is high quality. You need to do your research... FWIW...we have 16-year old Kohler faucets in our bathrooms that have held up just fine...and they were, I'm sure, builder grade since they came with the house! We have had such good luck with Kohler that we went with Kohler in our remodel and have no regrets! (Of course, it helped that I really liked the two styles we have...Kohler Vinnata pulldown for the main sink & Kohler Fairfax pullout for the prep sink!)

I did a google 'shopping' search for the same faucet, because I really like it myself and think that I might get the same one, except in chrome. The search popped up 16 vendors.

The 2 cheapest ones were a place called Home Perfect and an ebay vendor called Home & Stone. Price was about $245 with free shipping, I believe. Seemed good to me!

I also want a soap dispenser so I am going to have to include that in my search and see who has those for the best price too. Did you get a chance to look at the soap dispensers, Rufinorox? I saw them in a store today and was surprised how different the sizes were.

tarnator - I found the soap dispenser at faucetdepot.com, which is where I originally ordered my faucet which is backordered for 3 weeks. The dispenser is already on its way, should arrive tomorrow. I wasn't picky about the dispenser, just picked the same finish that matched my faucet. I'm planning to cancel the order I placed and buy the facuet from another online site.
