Be patient now Noda....one more day! LOL I am sooo ready for her to have her hair done makeup and her dress on I want pics....She is still not going to have a flower though she said they bug her and I said everyone else will smartie pants reply......'BE THE SHEPARD NOT THE SHEEP'.....where did she come from???? What happened to the one who couldn't go to school in a store??????? Stacy

Thanks woodie. She sang "Nearness of You" and yeah, she made me cry. Got a huge round of applause. The teacher choreographed the piece so she was center stage, gave her a dummy mike to work with, long white gloves (very elegant), and in the spotlight with dim lights on the rest of the stage which was set like a nightclub with some tables and chairs. About a verse into the song the other choir members (clubgoers) started asking each other to dance, soon she had a dance floor of romantic couples behind her. It was lovely. Now I need to clean the dress *again*. LOL

My DD was 5'9" and 110 lbs at the time we were looking for her senior prom dress. Had a very difficult time finding dresses that she liked and also fit. We had the opposite experience than that of roselvr. All of the dresses were cut for more shapley girls, many of the dresses were also too short. Being model thin is not so desirable when you are in high school. I am a loyal Nordstrom shopper. We were able to find alot of sweet 16 party dresses when DD needed those thru Nordys. Can't comment on their prom dresses as we never looked there for prom. Can't hurt, I just love the customer service provided by Nordstrom. They make everything easy as opposed to other stores where the sales people act like they are doing you a favor by selling you an overpriced piece of clothing.

My daughter found a beautiful royal blue floor length dress at a used dress sale held every year at her all-girls high school. We also found a cute light blue short dress at the sale the year before, which she wore to the Sadie Hawkins dance. This past homecoming, her dress from Foleys was worn by another girl as well. Yikes. The funny thing about the used dress sale was that the moms running it could tell you who wore the dress and to what dance. Mari, there's also a shop at Valley View Mall called Angel Wear, and I've bought beautiful Confirmation/First Communion dresses there. The shop specializes in Quincienera (sp) apparel, so the selection is varied and the dresses are usually on the modest side. Plus, they can order a dress in the size you want.

Thanks again everyone.....Well so far she doesn't have a date but she doesn't care....she said she will go with friends....she was "talking" to her boyfriend from last year she broke up with but that didn't work out much to his dismay....but she doesn't need a man.....Yes missmaggie...I do believe she knows she looks good in that dress....so funny the "attitude" in this one from all those i posted the other night....totally different...guess when it is right it is right....Stacy

LOL I LOVE it! "Be the shepard and not the sheep"!

Sounds like DD Heather and I and the wedding! I think she needs this or that and she says "NOPE not having it."
Now I gotta remember that line of Sydneys when my DD says nope, not having it
