The bunnies have arrived on the porch...

I had these made many years ago and forgot about them. I added the sofa yesterday. Found it at the local antique mall. I made an offer and she accepted...I was so pleased. It is in perfect condition and new cushions. I am not sure I love the fabric color but for now it works since it is Spring.

I tore off all the veneer on the table and sanded and painted then added a glass top. It is very very old and fragile but I like the new look.

So here are the bunnies ...they seem to be happy ! HAPPY EASTER !!

Vacuum, this joyous experience is very soon gonna turn into a riot - with seven kittens zooming around at full speed and getting into all sorts of mischief; can hardly wait for it to begin :-) I can imagine Max trying to keep up with all of them LOL Michelle, thanks a ton, I gave the babies and Momma some kisses for you, and kept one for myself :-) Wow Lily, what a story! You gave the Mum and babies what they deserved - proper nutrition, care and lots of love. Give Nellie and Annie an extra-special chin-scratch for me. Well Pumpkin wasn't eating properly 3-4 days ago, and the vet gave her an antibiotic shot, plus antibio tablets to be given for three days. He tried to make her eat the de-worming tab but she hissed, spat, growled and tried to bite him while the tablet jumped all over the vet's office. I powder her antibio and roll soft cheese in it and put the med-cheese-ball in a bigger cheeseball, she usually gobbles it up alongwith her food. When she tastes the med I get a pained, you-let-me-down look :-( She's eating well. The Pumpkinettes should open their eyes soon; they hiss when you go near them, and Orange even growled at me once - real cheeky! It looks like it's a boy. Vacuum, would you check with Jasper and let me know if it's OK to name my pumpkinette Jasper? There's a grey baby who comes waddling out of the box when I talk to Pumpkin. The others just sleep in a drunken stupor as they spend ALL their time at the milk bar LOL Oh yes, and I managed to get a decent deal on boarding all our cats and the babies (11 cats!!) when we go on vacation (mid-July). This is better than giving them up to Feline Friends at 8 wks. I want the babies to find good homes but I want to be around to say goodbye - so when I return in August, I'll still have some more days with them, and then they'll go to their forever homes. Blight may have arrived

I had some lower leaves on some of the oldest plants (in-ground since March and now 3-4' tall) start showing both bacterial speck and Early Blight around last Thursday, or at least that is when I noticed it. I stripped off the infected leaves, added more mulch to further reduce soil splash and.......didn't do anything else yet. It wasn't on too terribly many plants yet, and one or two beds had no sign of disease yet. We had a really wet April here, with about 200% our usual April rainfall here at our house, so I have been expecting trouble. I know I should spray the plants with a fungicide and/or bacteriacide, and I have three or four such products in my shed: GreenCure, Serenade, Copper, Neem and Chlorothalonil....okay, that is five. I may eventually spray them but with rain yesterday, rain in the forecast for tomorrow, and then more rain again later this week, I have been trying to hold off and spray after the worst of the rain has passed. It seems pointless to spray now when we are forecast to get another 2" over the next few days. I feel like if I sprayed the plants now, they'd be protected during the rain, perhaps, but the rain also likely would wash the fungicide off the leaves and then I'd need to spray again. Maybe I'll spray after that 2" of rain falls. I just hate, hate, hate eating produce that has been sprayed with anything. Everyone here at our house as a bad cold/the flu/bronchitis and feels perfectly miserable, so no one has even set foot in the garden today. I only went out there yesterday to see how much storm damage there was and then I came right back in. It currently is 94 degrees out there and we had a foggy/misty haze for several hours after sunrise this morning so the plants had moisture just dripping off of them. That's likely going to contribute to the appearance of more yucky foliage. I am sure that while I am stuck indoors, a major disease outbreak probably is occurring and spreading through the garden. I'll deal with it after I'm feeling better. With your very small plants, if they have at least four true leaves, you probably could remove the two worst leaves but I would be sure to leave at least two leaves that are healthy enough to keep conducting photosynthesis so the plants can continue to grow. Or, you can spray them with the fungicide of your choice that is labeled for Early Blight and not remove any leaves until the plants are bigger. I've also done that in the past. With the rain, heat and humidity, May looks to be a difficult month for the tomato plants, and I think it never is a good sign when Early Blight shows up this early. Often it doesn't show up until near the end of June.

What a gorgeous house and porch! The bunnies look very much at home there and the wicker table is beautiful. I can't help but wonder what the inside of your home looks like. Have you ever posted pictures of the interior? Would love to have some glimpses.

Thank you Pam...I have had the table for years and it was really deteriorating...took me long enough to fix it...sigh...but I am so glad I did.

Ingrid I have posted a number of times but here you go. Thank you so much for the sweet compliments. We have had the house since Mar.2002. It was built in 1890. We have done every room. We added the upstairs when we converted the attic to living space in the winter of 2002-2003. Then we did the rest of the downstairs including the kitchen in Spring of 2006 and finished that December. I am through !! I only work on the outside now. I am not a gardener but I am learning . Thanks again, feel free to ask me anything after you look at all the albums...there are a LOT LOL. Caroline

Artlover , nope my "little ones " are in their 30's LOL. And none on the horizon. I think the neighborhood kids may enjoy them as everyone goes for an evening walk here. We are so lucky to have this home...

Your porch is delightful! It must be such a joy to be out there in the evenings...even when you don't have all these special friends to sit with you!

How sweet, the Bunnies hopped down the Victorian Trail. I'll bet they were jealous of the Christmas tour so they made their appearance.

Oceanna- nope no little ones , mine are grown and don't want to have any little bunnies for now anyway. I will let the little ones in the neighborhood enjoy !
