Best place I could find for this post concerning pavers

I hired a contractor to install pavers for my pool deck as well as some other areas around my house and they are almost done. There is quite a lot of material unused, 4-5 full pallets, open brick and pavers that may fill a couple more pallets along with several bags of joint sand. Here is my question. They priced my job and supposedly ordered material for approximately 2900 square feet. I can understand some overage, but this seems extreme. I would like to take the position that this material is mine because it is included in their price. I can store the pallets and hire someone to do some additional work at a later time or sell it. If it goes back to the supplier, the credit should go to me.

Am I out of line on this? It just seems to me that with this type of excess, I am being cheated if they can either use it on another job or take it back to the supplier and get the credit for themselves. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
