Here it is Joann. I do have Patti's name beside it. You have to plan ahead, it sits overnight with the spices on it. I think I might cook it on foil, because of the caramelization. The roaster might be hard to clean otherwise. Sticky Chicken 3 lb roasting chicken 2 tsp salt 1 tsp paprika 3/4 tsp cayenne 1/2 tsp onion powder 1/2 tsp thyme 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/4 tsp pepper 1 cup chopped onion Combine spices. Rinse chicken and drain well. Rub spice mixture over skin and inside cavity. Place in resealable bag and refrigerate overnight. Stuff cavity with onions. Place breast-side down in roasting pan. Roast, uncovered at 250 degrees for 5 hours. Internal temp should reach 155 easily. Baste occasionally with pan juices, roasting until juices start to caramelize in bottom of pan and chicken is golden brown.

No flexibility here unless it is something really, really important. "Supper" is at 6pm sharp! I am very, very, good at getting the complete meal set out on the counter promptly at 6. We fill our plates at the counter and DH takes them to the table. I give him a 10 minute before the hour warning by saying, "you should be in the kitchen getting ready". You wouldn't believe the things he suddenly is 'compelled' to do on his way. He will check the tv listings, change into his evening loafing clothes, does his blood sugar, then may decide to update his blood sugar log with the last 2 weeks results. While filling his insulin syringe he will decide it's time to change to a new bottle and replenish the syringe supply from a back room closet. Gets side tracked while washing his hands and may decide that now is the time to clip his nails etc, etc. Once in the kitchen, now may be the time to refill the water jug, pick the label off an empty pill bottle, or wash a pot or two. Meanwhile, I have filled my plate and am sitting at the table waiting for him to bring my now barely warm food. Drives me crazy!

patti is off visiting and will be back Tuesday for her usual thread. caroline, don't you love coutry lo boils? I do that every year for my birthday along with grandson's. I do the newspaper for the tablecloth and roll everything up in it that is disposable. How easy can that get. I made 7 up biscuits the other Sunday, except it was with club soda.

It looks like we may finally get a break from the rain tomorrow. Cooler than norma for July though. I went grocery shopping this evening & was planning to fix spinach tortellini. DH is working late out of town & I was running late by the time I was done, so I decided on something simpler. Whole Foods was having one of their holiday "bundle deals", so we're having bbq sandwiches with coleslaw. Will have a chocolate chip cookie for dessert as that was part of the bundle. We almost never keep any kind of sweets around the house, so it's a treat for us.
