Lots of rambling on this topic . . . No to a hot air brush -- the whole reason I like using the wall-mounted unit at the gym is that it leaves both hands free. No to a bonnet dryer. Do they even still make those? And curlers are rather the opposite of a blow dryer. No to changing my hairstyle to avoid the need for a blow dryer. I'm mid-fourties and in very good health. I just like the hands-free convenience and can see that it could be even more handy in the future. I don't see how it could be unsanitary. It can't make germs. Whatever germs are in the bathroom could be blown around, but they won't be increased in number. I was wondering about putting it behind . . . something. I just didn't know what. I do like the idea of putting it behind a picture, but I don't know if it would need to stand out from the wall. I'll pay attention next time I'm using the one at the gym. I do like that picture and am going to take a look at the website. I hadn't considered the possibility of it breaking, but that is a very reasonable thought.

My Rusk arrived yesterday and I used it for the first time this morning. I think it's too soon for me to give it a complete review. However, two people remarked on how beautiful my hair looks today! One person I know and someone I don't. So there's that. Despite my best efforts I have good and bad hair days for no obvious reason, so it could just be one of those days. To complicate matters, I started using a mousse, which I never did before (Joico Joiwhip, #1 in a recent mousse report). I think the mousse might be adding to my hair's new likability. The cord is VERY long (8 ft.). I guess that's great if you want to go for a stroll while drying your hair. One thing I notice is the hot is really freaking hot, so I switch back and forth between warm and hot. My limited used of a round brush seems to have more "take" than with my old dryer, i.e., a short blast of hot air sets better. Totally unscientific observation. Today I was in Costco and stumbled upon a Conair InfinitiPro (ionic) for $19.99. I bought it, because sometimes I don't know when to stop. I can always return it, whenever.

I watched the video until I decided that she had so much product on her hair that it needed to be washed again. My hair is not long enough for most of the brush/dryer things. But I keep looking at them thinking that a smaller one might work well for me. Currently I use a round brush and dryer which requires some coordination and I have to stop every few minutes because my hands go numb from nerve damage in my neck. After that I use a curling iron because my hair is straight, flat and a tad frizzy. I googled best hair dryers and this list has a nice selection along with recommendations on which one is best suited for hair type. They did have two that are smaller that I plan on investigating. I am another one that loves my Dyson. It's the quicker drying that was the biggest thing for me. I have medium length hair that used to take at least 20 min to blow dry. With my Dyson it takes about 10 min. That alone was worth the cost. Well, I admit I probably would never have bought it myself. DH bought it for me for Chanukah one year. Honestly, I was both thrilled (wanted to try it) and annoyed (spent too much $$). But one use and I was a convert. I actually just bought it for my daughter for her birthday. One particular color was $100 off from Dyson. That caused me to pull the trigger for her gift. Gave it to her last week while we were all on vacation at the beach. She liked it, but will need to get used to it. She's used to using one of those brush styling dryers. She did love that it dried her hair much faster. She's just out of practice of using a blow dryer and a brush in separate hands. The cord is very heavy, but I don't find using the dryer to be heavy (and I don't rest the cord on my vanity). In fact, I found it to feel lighter than my previous dryer. I am dying to try to new hair straight. But the price is stopping me. An influencer I follow (and trust their recommendations) that has similar hair to mine says it's life changing. Just cannot spend that much money. Yet. Hoping the price will come down eventually. I think it did on the dryer.
